I'm re-watching all the seasons and I have some questions about this episode.

First, Why didn't Charlie go outside the door with Desmond and close it behind. He had plenty of time before the grenade went off.

Why didn't Desmond go aroung to the porthole and get Charlie's body?

And last, why did Daniel record her message in french? She spoke English well. Why just keep repeating it in french?

I don't think Charlie tried to save himself because he believed he had to die in order for Claire, Aaron, and the rest of the survivors to be rescued. I believe Charlie thought that if he survived, there would be no rescue.

I think Desmond didn't retrive the body because he had to hurry back to the beach to deliver Charlie's warning. Also, he may not have been able to squeeze himself through the porthole, especially if he had put on diving gear.

As for why Danielle recorded her message in French, I would guess it was because French is her native tounge.

i wonder the same thing. i appreciate Brother Desmond's explaination, but it never sat well with me. He escaped death several other times because of Des' help. He could have saved his own life that time. People have an instinct to survive in situations like that.

I noticed on the map Sayid had, the Looking Glass Station was anchored to the Island. I 'll try to find a pic.


Is this in case of the Island being moved? That would ensure the station was taken along for the ride.

I always thought a good way of taking down the Looking Glass would just be to blow up the wire on the beach that feeds it electricity.
