Is it a generally accepted theroy that the island has a strange electro-magnetic force which is pulling objects (planes, hot air ballons, parachuters etc) towards it? Maybe like the Bermuda Triangle. I was wondering if this was generally what most people believe?

Yes, I'm sure someone else can explain it better and in more depth. But, its generally believed that there is some electro magnetic field around the island and that was why Desmond kept pushing the button every 108 minutes, to keep the magnets in harmony.
This is also connected to ideas about static electricty and why there are no hair brushes on the island (brushing hair produces static electricty). Clair notes that she can't find a hairbrush in any luggage early in season one.

Ha! I know, I was thinking the same thing... Their hair always looks nice and clean. Also, before they found razors, none of the girls had pit hair..
Maybe Sayid made everyone a comb he's can make glasses for Sawyer and fix a transmitter I wouldn't put it past him!

did anyone also notice that in the 2 episode season 4(last night) that the helicopter ppl said, when they were geting closer to the island, they lost all power... which is kinda like the bermuda triangle.. sort of. but its odd how the island still has kind of a blocking, jamming thing thats goin on. like when niaomi had to change her frequency, nd ****. idk
