Ok, so maybe I'm way off..... the Orchid Station was where the bunnies multiplied, yes?
I had a thought a few months ago-- that there may be two Bens- one on the island and one off. I know there were a few threads about this. What if there's a way that the "vault" duplicates people some how. The Locke in the coffin could be a different Locke than is leading the Others now. I got the impression that Ben told Jack they "all had to go back" b/c they all left at the same time? Maybe Locke ended up in Tunisa after the Island moved and then he took the name Jeremy Bentham...? I dunno. Sometimes I think better than I write...

I thought the Orchid was about bending space and time - teleportation, time travel, whatever you want to call it.

I think the 2nd bunny was the bunny they sent into the future and Hanso and his bunny caught up to it. They teleported it into the near future but not far enough, so they caught up to it sooner than they thought...Maybe later in the video he actually teleports the bunny, but the recording of the video took longer than expected and they ran into where they sent it... Am I making any sense...:o

K, I'm contradicting myself here, but I just keep getting all these new thoughts in my head.... Let's say there aren't two lockes, but in stead the one John is dead. Would that mean that someone else is now leading the island? If Locke's off the island, my new guess is that he moved it again and there is a new leader?

That's funny because I was thinking how in the world did Locke die??? The others always have a leader and if locke is dead who is leading????

I think maybe Locke had to move the island again and he teleported when it moved. Just another nutty theory, but I can't see any other way Locke would leave the island.

I don't see locke leaving the island either because he wouldn't be able to walk. So who is the new leader??? Is it really Locke in the coffin... There were a few alternate endings with different people in the coffin?????

The two other alternate endings were Sawyer in the coffin or Desmond. I think they just filmed those endings to throw off the cast and prevent them from telling anyone.

Locke left the island because he need Jack and company to return for some reason. I think he left by choice to bring these people back with him. I think when he left, Widmore used the opportunity to kill Locke, making it look like a suicide.

Then who's the leader????

We know that Locke does not want to leave the island, however, the island can let people come and go (remember Mr. Friendly went to see Michael). Maybe Jacob told Locke he had to go and get the 06 back. Just a thought. Richard Alpert is running the island while Locke is gone.

I agree- Richard is the interim leader while Locke is gone.
If Locke were really dead, maybe there's a new search for the next leader?

That's what I think as well. Something goes wrong on the Island, and Locke has to find the O6 and bring them back to the island, but he gets killed by the sombody (prob Widmore's people, the same people outside Santa Rosa.)

re Lock:
when keamy was dying, why didnt lock quickly remove the heart monitor and attach it to himself...then it would have kept recording a heart beat and maybe the freighter wouldnt have exploded...just a thought

Ben has convinced Locke to leave the island and persuade the 6 to return for some reason. Perhaps, to allow Ben to return?? Ben has also convinced Locke that if he died, it would be more convincing to "the 6" that other lives may be in danger if they don't return. Somehow Locke had to be convinced that when the 6 go back, the future will right itself and he won't be dead or have to die. Either this will work, or Ben has really pulled a fast one on Locke.

I think Ben is pulling a lot of fast one's....

I think as soon as they took it off it would have activated the bomb. I am really upset Keamy got killed off so soon.. He played such a great bad guy....

No one died on the freighter. Christain got everyone (or at least Michael and Jin) off onto another ship or sub before it exploded. Widmore had to think everyone onboard died and that his mission had failed miserably. As far as Keamy, you can't change the arm band, because even a brief interruption sets off the detonator. Ben already knew Christian had the freighter covered and no one (important) would die. That's why he killed Keamy. "How many times do I have to tell you, John? I always have a plan."

I don't think They made it out alive. Christian said "You can go now". I think he meant that he can "Go" as die. Remember Micheal couldn't really live with himself anymore for what he did.

Correct.. Michael was "let go" by the island.
Also Ben can't be controlling Locke cause Ben can't return to the Island. Perhaps Ben meets Locke back in the US before Locke dies. But Locke had to choose to travel back to the US for some other reason than Ben cause...

Yeah. That makes more sense, but maybe he "can go" means he's paid his penance and can go on with his life. And what about Jin. I don't believe Jin's dead.

What was interesting to me was that, if Locke is truly dead, the Island LET him die. Obviously he fell out of favor with the Island. Jack said Bentham told him things had gone badly once they had left. It seems that the story of John Locke remains tragic.
