flash backs

well now i think rosseuo ( french women) is stating to bevcome part of the castaways, which means soon we will get flashbacksso will alex and carl i beleive. This will be intersting to see how and why carl is on teh island, how alex was brought up by ben, and what roseuo was doin prior to coming to the island.
how ever there has been 2 flash forwards ( i have only seen episode 1 of season 4 atm) so how will this effect otherchraacters flash backs, if infact they do not get off the island?

I'm really interested too. I think telling us Rosseau's story could answer alot of questions, especially some of my older ones from seasons past and allowing me to grapple with all this new stuu from S4.

Yea ive always wanted to know how Karl got to the island since it seems he's not related to anyone and he's pretty young.

Just to be sure , karl is alex's boyfriend, the same dude Ben tried to kill or brainwash? I kinda lost track of him

Yea thats him, in this last episode it was funny when Karl tells Ben "Shut up Mr. Linus" and Ben says "If your gonna sleep with my daughter refer me as Ben" or something like that.

Ive got no idea, ive heard rumors though that we're gonna learn alot about him this season.

i'm a bit concerned about the flashback format in general. seeing a show that included flashbacks, present action, and future happenings could become quite muddled. although i would like to see some characters histories explored further, it would at this point greatly increase the risk of brain bubbles.

but this begs the question: what happens when present actions "catch up" to the future clips that we are seeing in season four? where is the next logical step after that? obviously, going back to the flashback format wouldn't make sense, because we've seen the bulk of the characters histories and the subsequent events on the island. and using the flash forward clips wouldn't make sense if the present events were taking place off the island, because it would remove the island itself from the picture (prior events notwithstanding). all this being said, i'm a bit concerned that the title of the opening episode is "the beginning of the end."
