Mightve been said before but I'm new to the forum.
I was rewatching some of Season 1 and noticed when Michael was talking to Walt in the middle of a rain storm he said he promised Walt he would go find Vincent once the rain had stopped....then all of a sudden the rain stops right away....and I've noticed Locke predicting the stopping of the heavy rain in different episodes throughout seasons right on cue.....do you guys think there is anything to this? or am i reaching a bit?

I think the writers have referred to the island as a character. The rain may mean that the island is saying something. Locke seems to be the one most in tune with the island.

I agree with the captain, I think it reinforces the notion that Locke is comletely in tune with island on every level.
I beleive it was Walt who stopped the rain he wanted his dad to look for Vincent, he is special somehow too.

I love you guys, but I can't go along on this one. I think Locke was in tune to the island almost right from the get go. Walt or his spirit form saves Locke, true ( which is another reason to go team Locke) but he was one with the island before that.

yea robo defintely. i mean think about it, his very first encounter with the island was waking up to having use of his legs again! i would be one the island too.
also, rose has a very similar bond just wasn't so focused on or extreme

i also agree with you that various losties and others are in tune to the island but think walt stopped the rain rather than the island on this instance. i mean why would the island care if walt fetched his dog! :p

i think that Locke has a special bond with the island but that Walt has powers that are separate from the island(ex...studying the book of birds and one hits the window and dies at the same time,etc)...also hurley and des have special gifts but obviously desmonds hppened after his hatch incident and hurley i think has always been special we just now noticed and r paying more attn to his character

hurley is definitely becoming a key character or at least its become more obvious to us that he is a key character.

In tune with the island maybe...but everytime he seems to stop it....someone is telling him thats its raining to hard and they need to get moving or something to that effect.....so its alittle wierd everytime someone mentions it...it stops right away on his cue no?

i think being 'in tune' is taken to a whole new level with locke and the island. he is so in tune that he is almost able to predict the future if that makes sense?

Locke has mentioned in a few scenes,"we're here for a reason" (something to that effect), my opinion is Locke feels the island....isnt JUST an island. ;)
