Abaddon = demon

Sorry if this is being discussed elsewhere. I haven't seen it. From Wikipedia:

Abaddon (Hebrew:אבדון,Avaddon - destruction, abyss) , in demonology, was chief of the demons of the seventh hierarchy. He was called The Destroyer and, in the Book of Revelation, St John called him the King of the locusts (Rev 9: 7-11).

I used to be very interested in demonology back in the days so I can't believe I didn't catch that. Good job! I was thinking about pronounciation of his name and to me it sounds kind of like A-BAD-ONE and Daniel's last name sounds like FOR-A-DAY. Anybody feels the same way?

I also don't think they're going down a "demon" path. Rather my guess would be that the name supports the obvious, that he's dangerous to the Losties. Then again, nothing is ever obvious.

i didn't catch that one james...good job....i have been thinking that abaddon is evil....i think somehow that ben is actually the opposite.....maybe they are opposites...fighting good and evil...ben is protecting the island (whatever it is) and abaddon wants to find it and destroy all that it stands for

i looked up the official meaning of Ben/Benjamin....means the son, right hand....son of jacob and rachel ....also can mean blessed
