time line?

Hello all,
It's been a while since I've been on the boards, but I had a question. Please forgive me if it was discussed already.
The other night we see Daniel crying looking at news footage of the plane crash being discovered. I assume this is a flash forward. However, last season, didn't someone report to the losties, I think maybe Desmond, that the wreckage was being reported to the rest of the world as having been discovered? This in the timeline is before the group meets Daniel this season.
So is this the alternate reality/time space continuum idea? The fact that the losties in the present know the world is learning of 815 wreckage underward, but in fact it is in the future that it is occurring at the same time?

i dont believe that was a flash forward, it think those were all flash backs in the last episode

well now i'm even more confused...i thought everything we were seeing now were flashforwards...how do you know they are from the past and not the future?

Because we saw Naomi was alive and getting together the group of 4 to go to the island, so clearly they hadn't arrived yet. Thats how it was obvious it was a flashback...I think the writers did that so we could be introduced to each of them.

Plus Frank, Charlotte, and Miles were all flashbacks. so dan's must be also.

Ok. Here is the thing...i have posted this before. We are in December '04 going into January '05 on the island. During the flash sequences of Frank, Charlotte (wicked hott!), Miles, and Dan they all find out that 815 wreckage was found by Christianne I. If anybody has played find815 and visited the accompanying sites you will learn that the discovery of 815 happened shortly after Oceanic announced giving up the search and that they are re-opening air travel. If you go to www.flyoceanicair.com, underneath the hacked commercial you find a link to their press release giving a December 31st 2007 date of reopen. So We have a difference of about 3 years.
So they weren't really flashbacks/forwards. They were more like "flashcurrents" if i could put it that way.
They didn't hop back in time going to the island, they are still in present time. Time on the island is just not the same as outside of it.
