The Birth of HansoAir
July 25, 2006 - Today the Hanso Foundation formally and publically announces the acquisition of Oceanic Airlines which will now be known as HansoAir. With Oceanic Airlines filing for bankruptcy during the holiday season of 2005 following the bizarre disappearances of several Pacific Ocean flights in 2004 the company welcomed the friendly takeover from its former partner, the Hanso Foundation. Before the acquisition, the Hanso Foundation was owed nearly 350 million dollars for the high tech piloting technology being prepared for the next generation of the Oceanic Airlines fleet. The technology was destined to revolutionize traveller comfort and safety with an Artificial Intelligence Piloting System (AIPS). By acquiring Oceanic Airlines, the Hanso Foundation will continue the dream of fully unmanned commercial airline flights to the most beautiful tropical destinations around the globe.
Hugh McIntyre issued this statement earlier today:
"...Air travel and tourism is a significant departure from the Hanso Foundation's traditional competitive strategy. Therefore we will initially focus high-end, all-inclusive travel packages to serve our customers and gain long term relationships. We don't want to know our customers for 5 hours at a time, we want know them all of the time. With this customer basis when our [AIPS] is fully implemented on our fleet we can expand our influence on the Travel Market Segment... I also want to stress once again that this is not a merger deal, it is a full acquisition."Michael Orteig, President of Oceanic Airlines, is pleased to hand over the reigns of leadership. He had released this this statement at an earlier date, unsure of how Oceanic Airlines would continue financially:
"After 25 years of service, we are forced to close our doors. Due to financial difficulties in the wake of the Flight 815 tragedy, we are no longer able to sustain service. We are deeply sorry that we can no longer serve our loyal customers, and apologize for any inconvenience our decision will cause."Now that the Hanso Foundation has taken on the challenge of making Oceanic Airlines fly again travellers can once more look to the tropics for business and pleasure.
