In case ya'll don't know already, Hurricane Gustav made landfall earlier today as a catagory 2 hurricane southwest of New Orleans. Good news for Boutte and Ginger. Hopefully they will be home soon.

you guys are so nice, we are iin a camp in Mississippi waiting it out right now. (we being my family and me)
we are probably going to head home tomorrow, but that doesn't mean that we will have power. They said that we would have power by fri or sat at the latest. We may be camping in our own house. I don't really want to think about my freezer or refrigerator right now. :(
I may be at home but not be able to touch base. So don't worry, we are fine.

Ginger, if you're lucky the stuff in your freezer can stay frozen for up to three days. Just have a great big ol' block party like we do down here!!! Break out the BBQ!!! On a more serious note Ginger, glad to hear that you and your family are okay though. Hope Boutte faired well also.

Thanks Notsolost, we just got back on Wed night but had not power til late on Friday night. Pretty much all the stuff in the fridge and freezer are gone. Oh well, it could have been much worse than it was. We only have a couple of things destroyed. One of the columns at the end of the driveway (that were destroyed and repaired after Katrina) is gone. again. and the last standing tree in our yard broke off the top 20 feet and destroyed the lamp in the middle of the yard. (it got destroyed and fixed after Katrina too) but other than that , all is fine. I really like electricity!:D

They are sooo glad to be home, and near their computer, and with a/c.
Now the freezer is cleaned out, must go to Sam's (warehouse store) and get stocked up again!
also gotta get branches out of the yard so I can mow. (the boys are making extra money that way)
Have you heard from Boutte?(just realized that he is back and fine, so busy cleaning out stuff I wasn't aware that the other thread was started by him!)
