As you probably already know, I've been watching the reruns on Scifi lately. This past monday they'd shown The Moth(which was a much better episode than I'd remembered). One interesting thing I'd like to point out is that Locke didn't outright MAKE Charlie stop using drugs, but rather he gives him a choice. Apparently, being able to make decisions is what makes him different from a boar he caught.

But much later, in the episode titled The Brig, Locke pretty much forces Sawyer to kill Cooper, because he can't do it himself. I'm not really sure where I'm going with this. Just thought it's interesting to see how much Locke has changed. Actually, it kind of reminds me of Flowers for Algernon. It seemed that the main character was much better off not knowing as much as a normal person. Hell, in one part of it, one of the characters said it was wrong for Adam and Eve to eat the forbidden fruit because of the knowledge they gained from it.

I hear what you are saying. But as far as Locke not being able to kill his father I belive there is a reason we have yet to see. Lockes life has been shown very broken and there has not been a clear story line to where he is and at what time and place. I think there is a huge key to him not wanting to kill his father that has yet to be talked about. I would love to get a detailed timeline of his life esp around the time he was at the pot farm to where he went right after.

Don't forget that when you look into the eye of the island there is an eye looking back at you! Was that the force that changes Locke?

Very true! Im really trying to build that timeline for Locke its so scattered and there are two very key players through out his life. First of Alpert was there in the hospital the day premature Locke was borned. When he was 5 Alpert returns to have him select items that belong to him. In the same scene you notice the girl pushing Lockes backgammon game and he is just quiet about it. Which is why I belive Locke choose the knife instead of the Book of Law that he first spotted and looked at like he knew that was the right choice he took the knife as a sign of wanting to be different. You also notice Alperts reaction to Lockes drawing of the dark cloud which is the smoke monster. He knew Locke was the one but he knew Locke did not want to accept who he is. You see him once more bullied in high school where he is offered a pamplet to attend a special science camp but Locke refuses because Locke wants to be tougher. Years later you see Locke approached by another man Abaddon who tells him to go on a walk a bout a true sign of toughness however Locke is confined to a wheel chair. Abaddon then tells him that he will one day owe him one when they met again. Many years later Locke signs up for the walkabout and we all know how that goes.

There is alot of gap to Lockes life we know he is very intelligent with very intense hunting skills. Can anyone fill in any blanks to his life. He has had many jobs would just like to get the order of his job placement. I would also like to know the time gap for when Abaddon told him to go on the trek to the time he actually went because he has hair when they meet and is bald when he goes to austialia.

The Moth is also one of my favorites. I love the scene where Locke finds the cacoon and explains to Charlie about helping it out. And it is so true, the struggle will only make you stronger. ;)
