View Full Version : Thoughts on moving the island

Most of you believe, or lets say according to the threats I found there is a strong belief that when Ben used the frozen donkey wheel he moved the island not only in space, he moved it also in time... maybe 30 years back. And it also seems that he has no control about when or where the movement is going to end.
So the problem is: if time exists since the beginning, lets say 6 billion years, it is statistically almost impossible to hit a time only 30 years ago accidentally. It's rather possible to end up in the mesozoic than 30 years ago...
Thoughts?

If you're moving the Islands physically or in time, and if they are true island land masses, then (beyond the physical logistics of it) wouldn't the Islands already exist in the physical location and time that they're being moved to??

there are also theories that the island is the floating island of Delos in Greek mythology (everything fits, pregnancy, death, etc...)

That is an interesting thought Ginger that I have not heard before.
Some of the facts about Delos fit and some don't. But there are a few reference to Greek myths in the past seasons.

Anisum, time and space are one thing. Albert Einstein's Theory of General Relativity tells us that the fabric of the universe is something refered to as "spacetime." To be perfectly honest with you, TPTB have had a lot of latitude on the show and even though in theory you are correct that the island could move to anywhere/anytime and it is like a c**p-shoot to just move 30 years, they are writing the show! They can do whatever they want! LOL!!!! Also, since in reality we cannot move any land mass in spacetime yet, it really doesn't matter!!! We have to accept it for what it is if we are to enjoy watching it!

Maybe it's not 30 years. Maybe it's "unstuck" in time. Maybe we'll finally see how the Black Rock got to the island, but then the whole thing shifts and we see Ben stealing Rousseau's kid...my theory anyway :)

Well, according to the premiers, Dharma isn't around because of the fact that Desmunds partner on the island is alive now, + the plane suggests that the "hostiles" i call them my friends ( imo richard needs to be in more scenes :D ) are at war with some other "force" or the Dharma could have found a way back OR this could've been the time period on the island when Widmoore is still in control of it, and if so.. they changed the rules.. again..
