Main two for me must be the black smoke and the four toed statue but the smoke will be explained in season 6 methinks.

That is a thought. But The only time travling contractions that can be time travling candates we have seen are the Donkey wheel and use to be the Orchid station before Ben blew up the chamber.

We know that Ben did in fact time travel when he turned the Donkey wheel. But he claimes it came at a coast. That who ever "moved" the "island" would never be able to return. Now Im not sure how he menat that. If he meant your banshid from the island or you want be able to find a way back. Which Ben has displayed that he has a plan to get back to the island. So im going with banishment. If Banishment is the consqeance for using the Donkey wheel how did Richard escape banishment if he did use the Donkey wheel to time travel?

Then there's the Orchis station's teloportation device. Could it be that it also sends you far in time or far forward? That would be the only way I can think of that Richard would be able to time travel without being bansihed from the island.

Unless the Temple that was spoken of in season 3 is the key to how he is ageless. Which Im standing with the temple. I think that place holds all the anwsers to everything including Smokie's orgin.


Also the speed of light can also age you a tramindus amout. Think back to the newer verson of the movie the Time machine. When the main Morlock leader stepted out side the preminter of the time machine he began to age very quickly untill he was dust

I agree. And maybe it's just me being partially biased - but I don't like the idea that Richard is just time traveling at will. We haven't seen this "temple" that's been mentioned, and judging on the sole fact that the word temple can typically refer to a place of worship, I think it has significant importance to the mythology of the island.

I think all these stations (the Orchid, the Swan) are functional aspects of the island but the Temple is the consciousness of the island, so to speak. Jacob, in turn, could be the figure that speaks for the island - similar to the role of Jesus speaking and acting for God.

I think the Temple is the place where the original inhabitants (the people who built the four toed statue) discovered the source of the Islands power and learned how to use it till it destroyed them.
