Carlton Cuse compared the island with Plastic-Man.
Pretty interesting, huh!?

"The island is the same way, except the coffee cup is Jack."

So does that mean the island WILL and CAN get you back, whereever you may be?

So the Island didn't want Jack, but he was there and it took him? maybe Christian was the glass of water.

Isn't this already known? Jack was never on Jacob's list, and of course we all assume Jacob speaks for the island. Jack just happened to be a surgeon that could help Ben - so that's truly the only reason he was of importance.

So far anyhow. But maybe this season Jack shows the island that he is more than just a 2nd pic. Each person has a reason for being on the island. If Jack's only reason for being on the island was to fix Ben. Then I would think th eisland would have let him leave the island peacfuly. Since leaving the island Jack's life has been a living hell. He practly lost the one person that meant something to him. He Would have taken his own life if not by some twist of fate a car wrecked. That and the fact that he keeps seeing his father is a clue that the island wasn't threw with him. That there was more for him to do. Other wise the events on the island that Locke told him of wouldn't have taken place. I think at first he was the coffe. But now the island needs him to be the water.

That's just my two cents on the subject.

Right, but the fact is he is the island's second choice. He originally wasn't on "the list" when he was on the island, and going by Cuse's new metaphor he wasn't even the islands first choice when wanting someone to come back.

Judging by this metaphor, I'd say the island WAS willing to let Jack leave the island peacefully. But someone else left with him that the island didn't want leaving (Aaron? Kate? Sayid? Hurley? Sun?) and it tried to get one of those people back, but when it reached out it got Jack instead. So then the island figured "yea, Jack will do, I guess."

the metaphor didn't say jack was a mistake ort, it seemed very purposeful and when you think how hard jack tried to get off island, how ben and locke tried talk him out of it, even his dad is hanging around and he wants to leave. the island is having none of it.

Didn't the Producers also say that when the Car crashed on the Bridge it was the Island getting Jack to come back? Also he knows about Claire being his half Sister so he could also go back for her!

That's all true. That's why I said this time around he personaly might show the island he wasn't just a 2nd choice. Just because the island is considerd a powerful enity doesn't mean it is the only powerful enity or the most powerful. Something else may want to guide Jack. We see that Jack's "Dead" father knows things, Jacob seems to know things, As well as Abandon knows things. So we have three seprate forces at play. event though Christian said he spoke for Jacob doesn't mean he was actualy speaking for Jacob or connected with him.

Ok then why did Ben say ALL of the 06 must return including Locke which wasn't one of the 06. If only one of the o6 where what the island was looking for then there would be no need for all 6 "7" to return. then again it was just Ben saying all 6 must return not the island. This looks like something the rest of season 5 will have to anwser.

If Jack wasn't important then I wouldn't think Locke would have known all the events that the 06 where going to go threw that they would have to return. Then making a special trip to talk to the o6 Jack espicaly about returning.

I have a feeling that Lepidus and Desmond are going to have to be a part of this group too. Abadon was pretty specific in the four people that he wanted Naomi to take to the island; and right now Lepidus is the only one that's not there. Not to mention his near call being the pilot of 815. Hawkins said that Desmond was meant to push the button, and if the island has reset it may want Desmond again to take over the button.

That is true, because Frank wasn't flying 815. So he would have thought he cheated death. But that is why he was one of the 4 Naomi was told to take to the Island. But if this is true, then the guy who told her to must be connected to the Island somehow or told by someone on the Island!
