Time Travel Question

I have a time travel question. I wonder if anyone has any ideas for me. I was watching season 4 last night. So, Desmond, Minkowski, the girl on the freighter (name escapes me) and Daniel have all been time traveling. Minkowski and the girl from the freighter have died. Minkowski died saying he could not get back. Does this mean that he is still alive in the other dimension that he went back to? Obviously, he would only live to a certain point because he did die. But, does he have the chance to still live on for a while?

Maybe the Minkowski in the other dimension or whereever he may be just "froze".

Cause I think Des was trying to pick up the pennies in the army dimension and then switched back to boat dimension. But that made the army-Des stood still and sat on the ground. If you know what I mean.
Like he just froze in his current position till the future Des came back.
Like Narnia. You go into the closet and stay like 10 years. Then you go back and not 2 seconds have past.

And I think one Minkowski couldn't live without the other. Because if the other one survived, the one on the boat can't be dead IMO.

That is a good point, I just thought when Des switched Dimensions he would be moving in both, but yours makes more sense.

When Des time jumped, the spacetime dimension he left from left him "frozen" because it was his consciousness that traveled not his physical being. So, in other words, the Des on the freighter either looked like he passed out or was in a coma or something like that when he time jumped to the past and the 1996 Des in the army. We know for sure that is what happens. TPTB even talked about it on the commentary for The Constant. And they used the phrase time jumping. It is what it is!
