OK one last thought for the day, if it's already been addressed, let me know. Sayid and Desmond leave the island on the chopper. They think it took them 20 minutes to get to the freighter, but the folks back on the island think that more than a day and a half has gone by.

Sayid also asks Frank how they could have taken off at night and landed on the freigther in the middle of the day.

Faraday calls for the payload and it shows up like half an hour after it's supposed to.

So the question is: How do the phone signals get through? If the island and the outside world are really in different times, how can someone on the island talk to someone off the island on the phone?

First of, it's interesting to note that the time the people on the Island experienced (A day and a half AKA 36 hours AKA 2160 minutes) and the time that the people on the helicopter experienced (20 minutes) is in the ratio 1:108 (2160/20=108).

Secondly Time Travel seems to occur when entering or leaving the Island on the wrong co-ordinates. The Island is not in a different time zone. I have some ideas but I will keep un-biased, but it is pretty much the case that when someone travels through the EM field produced by the Island that there time warps causing a decrease or increase of time, and it seems that it is increase when entering the Island and decrease when leaving the Island.
