Hey all in season 3 e.17 i think we see John Locke blow up the submarine and shatter Jacks chances of getting off the island. However, rewatching this episode we also see a coversation between richard and ben while Locke is hiding in the closet.
Ben says to Alpert, "get me the man from talahasee" which we know as Lockes father and the man who con'd sawyers parents. The thing that bothers me is we are lead to believe John brought his father to the island however now i am thinking was that ben lying to John and Richard really went and picked him up??....
Furthermore, when con man original saywer tells john that he thinks the island is hell because he got in a fatal car crash, I wonder was he lying too....
man im confused ANY THOUGHTS?

Yeah they like to play with us like that. It's what keeps us comming back. I think they're cloning people by going back and grabbing them just before they die some how creating a divergent time line when theybring them to the Island. Something like that anyway.

The writers I think it was said that richard and some other ''others'' forced him (anthony cooper) off the road and then kidnapped him and brought him to the island. which is why anthony thinks he's dead. ben always plays mind games, that's what he was doing with locke. (magicbox)

yes, and that episode was paramount in throwing the fans into fits about purgatory, even though it has hence been disproven (whew, right?!)
I think it was a little bit mean to do that to us, but hey... it keeps us watching! :p
And btw, re the magic box, Ben eventually smirked and told John there was no such thing. (but a frozen donkey wheel is totally plausible... )

I tend to believe Anthony Cooper was taken by the others, and brought to the Island.
I don't believe Cooper was lying when he said he was in hell. Not only because of the car crash, but because he is seeing his son he who believes to be dead, (at this point the 815 "wreckage" was discovered, and all were said to be dead.)

What do you mean we were lead to believe that John brought his father to the island?
I remember thinking that it was "the magic box" aka... Richard/Others

speaking of locke blowing up the sub , i dont think he did . my reason is that if you watch the episode closely when he got into the sub he was dry and went into the sub to put the c-4 in there apparently at least that is what they seemed to want us to believe . but as i said watch closely when he comes to meet jack at the beginning of the dock locke is soaking wet to me that makes no sense . any ideas or answers . just wondering .

If I had just set an explosive that was about to go off i'd want to get out of there quick. Maybe he just fell in the water.

The Poll is over, but here is a link to some discussion we had about the sub.
