The only thing I can add is that MacCutcheon was the very old and very expensive brand of scotch that Charles Widmore drank. He "tortured" Des by pouring a glass and rather than handing it to him he told Des he wouldn't earn enough in a month (or year?) to pay for the mouthful in the glass and no, he couldn't marry Penny. There was also a beach scene early on where Hurley and Charlie stole a bottle from Sawyer's stash and got Des drunk on it. Well, I think that they were all pretty loaded! I think that Mr. Paik may have had a bottle on the bar behind his desk but it was really too hard to see. That may have been the drink of choice for Christian, too. He was a scotch man. And lastly, I believe that was what Anthony Cooper drank also. It was the scene when John went to visit him for the first time. That's it!

One final piece to add but I don't think it has anything to do with our story. I found this about E. M. MacCutcheon. He wrote books. They were technical books about steel tension on ships I think.
TRANSITION TEMPERATURE OF SHIP PLATE IN NOTCH-TENSILE TESTS, (2005)
MacCutcheon,E. M., Pittiglio,C. L., Raring,R. H.
A number of notched, 12-inch-wide, steel-plate specimens--some of them taken from ship plating that had fractured in service--were tested in tension on the TMB 600,000-lb testing machine....
Ship Structure Committee Long-Range Research Plan - Guidelines for Program Development. (1998)
MacCutcheon,E. M., Oakley,O. H., Stout,R. D.
This study constitutes a look at the long-range needs and opportunities to improve ship structure through research and development initiated between now and A.D. 2000. Eight different types of trends...
Transition Characteristics of Prestrained, Notched Steel Specimens in Tension, (1998)
MacCutcheon,E. M., Wright,W. A.

i am pretty sure you are right about all of those instances of the scotch , and that was kinda what i was getting at that the name is the same as on the bottle . but again all i could come up with .

they have used MacCutcheon for several things
they also used A B MacCutcheon for something, can't remember what (I figured A B C?)
Widmore drinks MacCutcheon I remember that but thanks for the other times referenced!
I wonder if someone named that will show up?

Oh yeah, on the pictures and descriptions of the destinations (ie.. island, arctic, jungle...) the description has the name A B MacCutcheon underneath.
