View Full Version : Adam and Eve...the purge (my theory)

Trying my darnedest to fall asleep last night a thaught came to mind about our Losties. I have been read somewhere on here someone's speculation that the island moved back in time. elsewhere someone pointed out that the numbers N824 could be a clue as to the date. Apparently they searched a record of aviation information and the specific aircraft with the numbers N824 was built in the early 70ies. If they are on the right track and from what we know so far about Losties in new Dharma jumpers it appears they have in fact ended up in pre-purge times.

This would make sense of the warning that if they all did not go back all their firends on the island would die.

Here is my theory (and possibilities)...the island is on some sort of infinite time loop. The time jump makes more sense of Richard Alpert not aging. The Richard we know now jumped back in time (1970ish) and already knew who to contact. Thus his showing up in our Losties lives (Locke, Ben, etc) when they were younger. To make certain they end up (return) to the island. This could have happened multiple time leading up till now. (This could explain the second Oceanic plane containing bodies of all passengers. Maybe they have to prevent the plane crashing into the island to stop the time loop? More than one plane crash in time. Same plane, same people, different location. Weird I know but this is Lost we are talking about.)

Could this lead us to the assumption that Adam and Eve are actually a couple within our Losties. (Jack/Kate, Sawyer/Kate, Jin/Sun, Rose/Bernard???) That got caught during the purge. Could our Losties have played a part in causing the purge to happen?

Could Jacob actually be another version in time of Jack stuck within the loop of the island? Could Jack short for Jacob Sheppard and just haven't been told his full name yet? Thus the intense connection of Jacob to Christian and Claire??

This would also explain the "list" at the beginning of the series. The others seemed to know beforehand who to expect on the island and who to gather and at what times.

Alex getting killed....remember Ben saying..."That was not suppose to happen that way...something changed" Or something of that effect...that indicated he knew the outcome and expected a certain chain of events to take place. Something happend that changed history...thus Alex being killed. He has always been one step ahead of the game...only because he has seen it before. (hmmm...getting a headache yet...I know I am.)

Another thought...the time loop theory could also explain Desmonds weird future predicting episodes earlier in the series. Somehow being caught in the magnetic blast caught his "selves" within time to merge together. Thus rather than seeing future events leading up to a specific time...He was actually seeing memories of Charlie's deaths throughout time (on an infinite loop remember) Each death resulted in a slight change of history leading up the place we are now.

That just blew my mind! It is like a bunch of little clues that all make sense when you put them in that context. Very good! Maybe you should stay up and think more.....you can solve this whole thing for us! :D

Jacob = Jack? I think you might be onto something.

After waiting and watching the Star Wars Trilogy and then the Prequel Trilogy it astounded me to know that R2-D2 knew everyone and everythng the whole time. I know it wasn't time travell like LOST, but could it be that some character in LOST will be like that?

As much as i like time travel, i think it leads to too many flaws. If they are back in the 70's wouldnt they see little Ben? How is that going to go over when ben returns. along with the whole aging process. for much of the 06, they were very young in the 70's. In less the 06 have a time machine of some sort, i dont know how this is going to work. although i feel confident that the writers know what they are doing.

I think Big Ben can see little Be . I just would'nt think Little Ben couldnt touch or know it was Big Ben. Kinda like the ole Marty an George McFly sebario.

I can't explain it right now. Vut I think Jacob will turn out to be one of the Losties in the end. My maine suspect lyes with Lock.
And do you think when Smokie made that bright white flash when he scaned Juliett. Delt with some type of time altering senario?

We are not 100% certain that Ben will be going back to the island yet. All we know is that he is helping the O6 get back

I love your theory! I'll add this:

The Christian's shepperd is god. He leads them to safety, etc...

Christian gave his only begotten son(Jack/Jacob) to save the world. Sorta like John 3:16..maybe another clue?

I'll add a few things, as for Jack=Jacob the TBTP said we have seen them but not heard them, but when its a time duplicate then this could be different. The ABC website has canon postcards, and one of them has the words: Return to the Island and Find yourself". As for your "Ben and Alex" situation, well, http://www.lost.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5379 explains alot. I perfer Jacob being Jeremey Bentham and Jack being his brother.

And remember, Ben can't go back, so is that why? incase he sees him self?

Just for the record.us Ben said who ever moves the island can never return.
But that doesn't mean he wan`t. Ben didn`t just move the island just because he could or was told to.us It was actualy Locked who was told.us Ben sacrificed his place on the island for Locke. Which might earn him an honer in the eyes of the island. In which Idon`t think it was Jacob who wanted the island moved.us What ever sister force that was in the guise of Christian that night was trying to get the chosen one banished. As well as change something.us Seemenly in the past. If the Di end up surviving past the Purge.us Im thinking that means something bad for the future.

Well, I think we kinda assumed that, although it was not shown, Christian spoke for Jacob and told Locke to move the island when Locke came out and announced that to Ben and Hugo. Why don't you think it was Jacob who wanted the island moved, Arc?
And I do agree that Ben wants back and will GET BACK;)

i've thought about that too, seems if not jacob then ben himself wanted it moved. mayb ben is a dharma mole from the start lol and the purge simply a sacrifice the island demanded(according to dharma) i no its not just killin time. i have to ask you Arch, i know u said u type on wii but what is up with the . us?

Good question. It mysteriously pops up in random places. Very annoying!! Even when I errase it. It will show up in random places.

But anyway. Why do I belive Chrstian not to be associated with Jacob? Because why would Jacob cry out to Lock for help To only ask him to do something to banish him from a place that seems to be where he belongs? Unless Jacob isn`t as "good" as we have been lead to belive.

Great point. And Christian seems to be more than just some one who randomly wound up on the Island.
