View Full Version : Don't bring him back......

After watching LOST last night I am begininng to think (and I read it somewhere here, but can't remember exactly where and whose post)......but, I am beginning to think that Locke quite possibly is not dead....or if he is dead, then if he goes back to the island, the island with it's magical powers will resurrect him....! The "him" they are referring to when they say "Don't bring him back to the island" is obviously pointing to Aaron as the obvious "him"......but, when watching it all again last night, when Ben is in the mortuary talking to Jack, telling him that everyone has to go back to the island, trying to convince Jack that it is the only way, etc., etc., etc....there is a pause and Ben says "everyone has to go back".......I think he means that Locke has to go back too. And, I think that Locke is who Claire is referring to when she is in Kate's dream.....I am sure this is posted in various places, but I could not find the right place to reply to, so I just thought I would start a new topic......thoughts????

I think that you may be right in regards to the him not meaning Aaron. But why would claire not want John to come back to the island?

I hear what you are saying. The fact that Ben says they all have to go back raises a bigger question that begs an answer: Why? I think this has something to do with recreating the main group of survivors that are pivotal to the show and are prime to changing or completing the way it plays out.(I know, duh!)

You always start a new game with as many of the basic pieces as needed to begin playing. Going back to the island appears to be a restart of the "game." I think of the 3-dimensional-3 layers game of chess. Some of the pieces (O6) or layers were removed before the game was completed. Leaving the island broke the rules. Killing Alex broke the rules. Or maybe it's like freezing one side of a rubric's cube--with one side disabled, the whole thing is wrecked and cannot be solved.

Bringing everyone of the O6, Locke and possibly Walt, back, will essentially restart the game by providing controlled mobility ( on the island) for all of the necessary pieces. Like the P-space idea that Notsolost explained. In our Lost world, even the dead/undead can play. The whispers provide help as they observe and comment about how the game is being played. Another question...what influence does the Lost audience have on this game? I think that it is considerable!! We give our comments after the fact--another kind of reversal or thinking backwards--like the whispers who speak backwards.

Does the game end? Could we call it EverLost? Some games seem to have no end and can go on forever......

Can the him be Ben?

Remember Ben said something in last night's episode....or maybe it was in a preview of things to come that something went horribly wrong (or something like that).....anyway, maybe whatever it was that went wrong was a direct result of Locke being left in charge??? I don't know.....just a thought to throw out there???

Ohhh, so it's like Jumanji!?!? :p

You have to finish the game to make all the weird stuff happening go away.

First logic, Aaron
2nd... John/Jeremy
3rd... Ben
4th... Walt
5th... Jack

Yes, in my opinion it could be anyone of those 5.

- Aaron, because he's Claire's baby, and Claire left him to be taking care of by someone else, supposedly to be taken off the Islands.
- John, because John's body would require being "brought back", and because perhaps having him leave the Islands had some purpose beyond just his trying to convince the O-6 to return.
- Ben, it seems logical to assume that Ben is going to try an hitch a ride back to the Islands with the O-6, and also it seems apparent, at least to me, that someone wanted Ben off the Islands in the first place, so they almost certainly don't want him back.
- Walt, because he was the only one who was actually allowed to leave, because the Others really didn't want him there, he was a problem for them. So, they probably don't want him to return either.
- And Jack, who knows... he has a connection to both Claire and Kate. Perhaps Christian doesn't want him there on the Islands.

My money is on Ben... Who's your money on?

About Ben. He tell's Locke that whoever moves the Island can NEVER come back. When he's talking to Jack in the funeral parlor, he first says all of YOU have to go back. But when Jack starts to leave, Ben says WE'RE going to have to bring him too. Sounding like he'll be joining them.

you can still solve a rubik's cube with one side disabled - you peel off the stickers and put em however you want em! I did it. but no seriously - I think they are talking about locke. even the show is jumping on the bandwagon of hating john.

That's what I mean... Claire is warning Kate NOT to bring him back.

I agree with you and LostFreak21. I think it's Ben and I think he's trying to find a way back just as Widmore was. I think both he and Charles are on the same side of things now (at least as far as the island is concerned), and their issues I think are more personal now than about the island (can you say Alex and now the vedeta against Penny? I thought you could;)). I think that it will now be both of them trying the wrestle the island back from John in order to get:
In Ben's case ~ Ultimate revenge as he'll be able to not only kill Penny, but keep Charles away from the Island

In Charles's case ~ Ultimate revenge as he'll be able to get back what he obviously feels Ben "stole" from him.

One question I have about the O6 having to go back is: Does this mean that Sun has to bring her baby back (Ji Yeon), as well, since she was concieved on the island?
I can't figure out what she would do with her if she didn't and I REALLY don't see her wanting to bring her back there. Should be interesting.

One other question: When Widmore moved the Island (I assume this is why he cannot find it again and how he managed to lose it to begin with) the Island didn't seem to communicate with him anymore (or it would just tell where it was or at least help him out somehow, right?), so how is it the Ben (who has now also been expelled from the island for at least similar reasons to Charles, I think) can still communicate with the island enough to know what it wants/needs? He keeps getting lists of people for Sayd to knock off, suppossedly from the island.

Anyway, just my thoughts and questions. :p

I wonder if the list from Ben is purely a group of people that Ben trusted who turned on him? As we have seen, money is a big motivator. Miles would do Ben's bidding for money, so what did the persons who Ben is killing off do for bigger better money, maybe from the economist? I assume that the whole Keamy affair had a list of cohorts who were not on the freighter and who were behind the scenes --more than just Abaddon and Widmore. A network of individuals who aided and abetted Widmore. A group who had a vested interest in not having any survivors surface so that there would be no huge restitution payments or whatever to them? Ben said he doesn't kill (or have them killed) "innocent" people....But then there's the question of sending everyone to the freighter when it was going to be blown up....

Hi, Beach!
The people on the freighter, though, were not necessariily "innocent", as (was is Miles?) who told Michael that at least half of them were not who they said they were...
And that "list"... is the island really giving Ben more lists, as someone posted?
I assumed Ben already knew who needed to be eliminated and wants Widmore to squirm (the reason he said "Good" to Sayid when Sayid said "they're on to us.") Am I right?
