Awesome!! So I assume that this and the other new scene really is right after Penny picked them up.
But how and from who does Jack know about Widmore faking the plane and all?
Did Penny told him? Very strange.

Not sure that it's right after Penny picked them up, actually I don't think so at all! Both Kate and Hurley have facial marks as if they've been in some kind of a physical struggle, I assume not with each other, Hurley with a scratch on his cheek. Furthermore, with the speech Jack is giving, Sun would no longer have reason to be blaming Jack, now she would know the bigger picture. And, as you said, how is it that Jack would know about Widmore staging the fake wreckage? Yes, possibly Penny knew and she told them, but I doubt she was the source of that information. And besides, they're all fairly well dressed, that's another sign that this wasn't soon after the O-6 were picked up, and we know that Penny and Desmond separated from the O-6 prior to the O-6 being officially found.
No, this meeting happens later, after they've all come together (Jack, Kate, Sayid, Sun, Hurley, Desmond, and Penny) to discuss what they'll do next.
Ok, if it doesn't come later, then with what we're seeing and hearing there, I see no reason why Sun should be out to revenge on Jack!

Here's the full email from Dharma....
Hello Dharma Friends,
In less than a week, LOST season 5 premieres! You're hopefully excited. We're
heavily medicating ourselves to overcome our anxiety.
What you'll be seeing on premiere night is, first, a special clip show designed
to get you back up to speed after our eight months off the air. The clip show
is followed by episodes one and two of this season. While we did not write them
to air as a two hour block, we are happy that you are getting to see both episodes
on the first night. Episode one entitled "Because You Left" picks up where the
finale left off, and the second episode "The Lie" is a Hurley-centric episode.
Honestly, we're very excited for you to see them.
Speaking of the Hurley episode, this week we've got a special sneak peak at a scene
from that episode just for you.
We've also put together some photos from a recent photo shoot set to the music Michael
Giacchino wrote specially for our 2008 Comic-Con appearance. (Actually, we didn't
put them together, but our awesome DSA team did -- and a good job they did, too.)
Click on the link and enter the password to check it out. Until next week...
Peace,
Damon and Carlton

I believe it is right after Penny picks them up, like the next day maybe. As far as any marks on them, remember, the helecopter crashed into the ocean. As soon as Jack met Penny the night she picked them up he said, "We have to talk" So that's what I believe is happening in this clip. How they are going to pull off getting back to the real world

This is definately after the crash on Penny's boat. Yes Jack is wearing a nicer shirt, but Hurley is wearing the exact same T-shirt. As for the cuts, like lostlinday said, they were just through a helicopter crash, that might scuff ya up a little bit.
The reason that Jack knows about Widmore is actually pretty simple. Desmond and Sayid were told by the captain of the freighter all about Widmore. Hurley was told by Ben and John Locke all about Widmore. Penny has known about the island and probably Widmore's search for it, and has told them all about Widmore. They've actually got alot of resources for Widmore information

You might have observed, as I was finishing the post I was beginning to have second thoughts. So, you may well be right. The only problem I have is, if what Jack was talking about was common knowledge among the group at that point, then I can't see how Sun would be holding Jack responsible for Jin's death. It only makes sense that she would blame Ben and Widmore (supposedly there are two that she blames, Jack being one of them.)

How do we know that the other person is Jack? I know that when Jack was talking to Ben he said, "Sun blames me...". But he trailed off at the end. Sun could be blaming him for anything. Maybe Jack had a few to drink and told a reporter that he had sex with Sun on the island. :)
I just think Jack saying she blames him and trailing off without finishing is a way of making us think that she blames Jack for Jin's death.

I agree. The only person that mentioned anything about Sun blaming was Jack. and we don't know what she blames him for. I would imagine Jack DOES feel guilty for Jins ??death??. He thought he was responsible one other time. Remember Bernard, Sayid, Jin at the beach? Jacks stubborness almost got them killed then.

When Locke came back and talked to Jack he no doubtedly informed Jack of Whidmore and what was really going on with the supposed rescue of them. He also could have told jack that Ben was the one who killed Keamy ultimately triggering the explosives on the boat, But than again Locke might have informed Jack that Jin is alive on the Island and that he is actually for the most part ok. Whatever it is we shall soon find out.

As far as Sun blaming Jack, I think it could be that she partly blames him for Jin's death--her loss. Claire's being missing or dead and Aaron being w/o his mom has more meaning now. She was pregnant and might identify more with Claire and may have realized more then what not being there with her child would mean to any Mother.
We also saw that Sun was quick to sacrifice others by blaming them! She was shown as a child who put the blame on the innocent maid. I think her father knew that, but was allowing her to lie because as a crook, that was a way of life for him. "Train up a child in the way you would have them to go and they will not depart from it." A great bit of Bible wisdom there. Jack's focus on getting people off the island is another twist on "be careful what you wish for." Count the cost!! Jack just can't keep from trying to fix things!! There are some wounds that can't be healed with surgical thread.....
