Think about this one...
In the new extended clip where the island moves, they cut back to Locke and it starts raining...
Remember how every time it rained on the island 'something' happened and Vincent usually showed up? Maybe the rain is a signal that the island has 'moved' in time again. That's why at some times the island moves in the right time line for Vincent and/or Walt to be there.
* It could explain why Jacob's cabin keeps appearing and disappearing.
* Might explain that an ancient civilization lived on the island too and hence the 4-toed statue
* Maybe the Black Rock ship got on the island because it appeared in time/space where the ship was and it got marooned because of it.
Thoughts??

The rain might just have been away to show immediately that there was a time change. One second it's sunny and nice, then a bright llght, when the light dies down your in the middle of a pevious rain storm.

About the water in all its forms- (solid, liquid and gas)- there's rain, ice, salt water, drinking water from the cave, and all. Does it have some hidden connection that we haven't yet figured out? Water is a conductor of electricity, we know that. A spoon in a glass of water appears to be bent by it. Water molecules stick together and create a film, like a membrane.
Desmond was mind traveling and lying in the water that Widmore didn't turn off.
The crazies on the boat tried to use the raft in the sea-- was that part of why they went bonkers?
Everybody is drinking the grotto water for a time, where is that water coming from and what does it contain? And why was Christian's coffin empty? Was it because it was so near the cave water?
Charlies's nightmare's were about calamities in the water.
The vaccine is mostly water.
The tanks in the hydra had been full of water.
Polar bears live on ice and swim in salt water.
Is Smokie merely the gas form of water colored by the island's black lava?
Amniotic fluid of the pregnant moms is mostly water.
Ice protected the frozen donkey wheel and room.
There's a waterfall and a pool of water on the island. The island has a rain forest
The island is surrounded by water.
The hatches appear to be buried below sea level-- why aren't they having problems with water?
Walt in the rain--using water as a conductor of electricity/energy to mind travel?
Spinal fluid is mostly water (Ben's tumor area)
The Looking glass is underwater.
When the island disappears, you can see the rings in the water where it was.
Just mentioning how much everything is connected to water, just as we are!

Does it rain every 108 minutes?
Remember he told Boone it was going to rain in one minute, that was after he looked at his watch . It rained and he looked up like he was being cleansed and smiled. Locke knows...

There was a scene where it started raining after Locke told them they have to go to the barricks and if you look at his face he wa a little shocked it started to rain and he didnt kow about it. So does that mean John was in a location with a low electrical frequency that he couldnt pick it up? I dont know about this whole water thing. Becuae the plane was effected by the Island and they werent in contact with the water

Water flows, evaporates, and reappears somewhere else, being carried in clouds...You see a lot of water motifs on the series, but not as much about fire or wind, or even about earth. We are about 70% water.
The eternal return of water is like the 06 having to return to the island. How many times have they returned there? Maybe the water motifs we see are the writers trying to connect the story to the fluidity of space, time and life within our world. Water gives life and can take life away. Maybe Adam and Eve, all desiccated as they were, have a deeper meaning than just being corpses. I hope that Lost isn't just about some environmental message that they have constructed into a series.

sounds like 'A Chirtsmas Story' when he translated the secret message and it was an advertisement for Ovaltine,

Also note that Locke is never bothered by the rain. In fact, it is like he welcomes it as some weird cleansing ritual.

Not all rain is alike. It was those really bad, threatening storm bursts that were the sign of something bad to happen. What kind of rain was it?

It was a good steady rain, no thunder or lightning though.

Notso and anyone else did you ever notice the circles that surround the Oceanic Logo? They look like they have a small whip-like tail. Their appearance gives the impression of something rotating or like a stylized rain drop. Worm hole? Black Hole? Singularity? Or is the logo a representation of a wormhole or a Black Hole with objects around the event horizon that haven't been pulled in yet? I know this sounds funny but what the hey...

I am with you on the Black Rock theory MOST definitely......I have been thinking that same thought since the island disappeared....! All the other ideas.....very, very, possible.......

Ok, my first post. I'm amazed it took me this long to find this place.
Anyway, The Oceanic name refers to water too, that'll add to the H2O mystery.
But, I was wondering if the Oceanic logo was also representative of the wheel Ben turns to start the time shifting. Or, maybe the number of IMPORTANT Characters of the show. Number of outside circles = characters and the center circle is the island, and the ring is the on going time delima or circle of connections.
