Haha I actually got addicted to Lost during the beginning of Season 3 believe it or not. I started dating this guy who was a HUGE fan so I started watching it with him but was so confused because I had never seen one show...well the next day I went out and bought both season 1 and 2 and LITERALLY watched them in a week 1/2! I couldn't put them down...well needless to say the relationship didn't last but a month haha but my LOST addiction lives on!! :D

I have always fantasized about being deserted on an island, at least for a few weeks or so, so I tuned in. I stayed for awhile, because of Kate ,honestly, then became addicted with all the craziness and other characters.

It wasn't until the episode with Hurley's flashback to his winning the Lotto that I became hooked.
My wife used to come in and ask me why was I yelling at the TV and I would tell her because I really liked this program. She would shake her head and walk out of the room.
UNTIL Last season, when I got her hooked!
I tell everyone that Lost is like dating in Junior High School An hour of confusion, frustration and fear followed by an overwhelming desire to experience it again. . .;)

its a pretty dull tale from lil' ol' me!
i hate planes and everyone gives me the usual crap about being more likely to die on the road blah blah blah so i always watch things with crashes so i can say i told you so and then i end up with nightmares for weeks lol! it makes sense in my twisted logic!
anyhoo - i loved the mystery of it all and really enjoyed it but never became really addicted and obsessed until the first episode of season 2. i remember we got all cosy to watch it and after it finished i sat there like a loon in silence for about 30 seconds (thats a VERY long time for me to be quiet!) and so the obsession was born.
y'all can wake up now....

I was hooked from the very first eppie in season 1. I love the original writing. And I liked all the Losties( till the tirangle crap started). Then, during that summer, I got hubby hooked from tapeing the reruns. Now, I have to tape all the eppies, and he watches them the next evening( and I get to watch it again).

I watched a few episodes of season 1 but my schedule didnt allow me to watch it every week. So I quit. About three months ago, I got a new job and I worked 3rd shift. Since no one else was in the building, we would watch LOST at lunch time. Whenever I started we were just beginning to watch season 2. Then we watched season 3 after that. I found out I only missed 3-4 episodes of season 1 so I was happy. Became addicted and knew it whenever we didnt have LOST one night at work and it absolutely drove me crazy.

I watched it from the very beginning! I saw an article about this upcoming show on tv and was like 'Oh my God, that actually looks really good for a change!' and normally I might not bother, but it was just really lucky I did! And I was hooked the minute I saw it. They showed two episodes to start off with on Sky One and I was an addict from that moment!

I became hooked after watching the first show. Went on the net to see if anyone else out there knew anything about it, started reading blogs and theories, and I've been an addict ever since. So glad the writer's strike is over; it means no short season for us! (Hopefully!)

You might say my 17 y.o. son is the drug dealer here...drug of choice being this show..... I used to make fun of him..."why are you watching that stupid show?" He would taunt me every now and then..."Hey mom, two more days....Hey mom, guess what Wednesday is..." etc. Anything he said related to Lost. It was getting obnoxious. One day about 2 months ago he decides he's gonna have a "Lost Fest" and watch Season's 1,2 and 3 back to back. I was trying to study for an exam and kept looking up over my glasses at the TV, and then back down at my notes....up at the TV and then back down at my notes, unaware that my son was watching me the whole time with a sarcastic smirk on his face. The notes were put down and we proceeded to watch the entire 3 seasons any chance we could get, over the next two weeks, finishing on the Monday night before Season 4 started. I was exhausted but I am so totally hooked. It has consumed me...it's all I think about. It's in my dreams every night. Some nights I wake up with a thought and write it down on a piece of paper so I don't forget to discuss it with him in the morning. We are "bonding" over our discussions of theories....(he doesn't like the spoilers but I must admit, I can't stay away from them.) Thank you Lost for bringing a mom and her boy closer. He's a really cool kid and I'm glad that I have this to look forward to every week to do with him.
P.S. I got an A on my exam!!!

I had a friend bring over Season 1 and watched some with me while I was recovering from surgery. This was 1/2 way through S2. So I was watching S1 trying to catch up but had missed the 1st 1/2 of S2. I was very confused. After I caught up on S1 and started talking to people I discovered this site and this site is what really caused me to become addicted. Once you begin to get into the deeper meaning and symbolism of the show, there is no going back.

I saw the previews when it first came on and thought it would be lame. Then right before the finale of season 2 premiered they played S1 Ep 1 again... I was like... oh, alright, lets see what the hype is about.
TWO minutes into it I was hooked. I shut it off and bought the DVDs so I could watch it ALL. Now its what I look forward to ALL week.

I have always loved "Survival" stories....."End of the World" stories etc.
ABC ran some great promos for "LOST" back in the summer of 2004'. I was interested but thought, "the show can't be that good". And , NBC had an island plane crash survivor series back around 1970......it lasted half a season. I think I was one of the 29 people watching it
So I did'nt expect much but, I had to give "LOST" a try. I was absolutely hooked from the pilot episode. I organize my life around the show's schedule......seriously.
Great thread

Are you kidding?! Pilot Part 1 after the crash, dazed and confused, hapless passenger gets sucked into the engine then BANG it explodes! Season opener! Then Episode 24-Exodus PT2, Hurley running towards Locke screaming "Don't light that, don't light it, the numbers...." then Bang, the hatch is open...... how can a guy NOT become addicted to stuff blowing up?:D

Since I'm the new kid on the block this seems like a good place to jump in. I have never missed an episode since it started and own all 3 seasons on dvd. Got my sister in law hooked after season 1 , so now we have LOST weekends where we watch a whole season. No matter how many times you watch it you allways see something new. And so glad I found this!! :D
I've also been hooked since day one and the obsession came about 3 episodes in.I love the idea of putting strangers together in extreme circumstances and they have to work together to solve problems or stay alive.

When I saw Walkabout and saw how Locke could walk after being in a wheelchair I was amazed and have loved the show ever since. Sadly the next three seasons are shortened. We have about like only 45 episodes left. Bummer.

I was a sophomore in college and for my birthday my mom got me Lost Season 1. She said it was a really good show, watched the whole season in three days. Needless to say I was hooked from there on out.

i got hooked because of the theme song. its like crack to me, cant get enough of it.
just kidding, i think the real reason i got hooked is do to the battle between lockes faith and jacks science. it kinda makes me think of myself. im really big into science and think everything can be explain logicly by science. but at the same time, no matter how much i dont want it and dont believe in it, i always feel the pull of faith and religion.
i watch about 3 episodes of lost a day. its usually on the tv when im doing other things. i just got my new roomate into it and i like to keep everything fresh so i find just having it in the background helps. and i have found that i pause during the into sound byte when the word lost appears and it seems to calm my nerve a little(i know im a little wierd)

I only got into lost about 5 months ago, when I ran into a friend at the library and he suggested I take out season one. I don't even own a t.v., and usually end up hating everything on t.v., so I was very skeptical. I originally thought this was some sort of survivor mock-up, but this show has been a very pleasant surprise. Truth be told, I've never seen a show that has grabbed my attention the way lost has. The fact that they don't give immediate closure with all the questions raised is something I rarely see in movies or t.v...
The first episode definitely had me hooked from the start. The traumatic first scenes of the wreckage chaos and later the monster smashing the pilot made me realize this wasn't the usual t.v. garbage. I watched the first 3 season over the course of 2 months and now I'm eagerly waiting for every thursday to come quicker....
