ways off the island [Archive]

I was thinking the other day.. about Lost.. what else is there to think deeply about?
I was thinking about all of the ways off the island.. how come Ben doesn't just get off the island through his closet the way that he did that time he threatened Widmore? It would seem like an easy way to go.
But noooo. he has to move a wheel and freeze and then die in the heat and beat up guys. :confused:

i thought when he went into his closet he summoned smokie i do not think it was verified he left the island through his closet . was it or am i wrong ?

why did he end up in Widmore's bedroom? or was that a flashforward? I'm so confused.

There are other ways off the island, including the submarine that Locke probably did not actually blow up... and if nothing else, since Ben knows the exact coordinates, he could take a slow trip in a boat. And since SOMEONE is making supply drops, there has to be a way of a rescue plane from THERE...
and Tom has left several times also, so we do know there are other ways off the island.
But he DID need to leave via the donkey wheel this time because the island needed to be moved and Ben is nothing if not obediant to the best interest of the island.

Now that the island has moved in time, the ways that Ben used to get on/off the island are not usable. Unless the people in charge of the Dharma Intiative have a frozen donkey wheel thingy somewhere off the island, it would seem like the FDW is only able to be used for one way trips off the island but not to get back.
