The flash of light....

Just a thought....you know how the flash of light was happening quite often (however now it seems to be slowing down....or they are back to LOST explanation time)....anyway.....maybe since Faraday was not sure when it would happen but was SURE that it would....maybe it is happening every 108 minutes.....thoughts....and if so....what would be the relevance????

Yeah it had been a while in between the last 2 flashes and it has not happened in a while either

It never turned from day to night without the flash. We don't know if it was editing or true time. We can only guess right now. We know that it WASN'T more than roughly 13 hours in any one time period.

Great thought! That would tie in with pushing the button, wouldn't it? Love that idea!! Maybe the exact 108 minutes was something they calculated later to keep the time flowing on the island in the "string" at a certain controlled pace.

That would mean that as soon as the hatch imploded they would have had this traveling problem.

^ not necessarily. The problem with the Island "skipping" time was there when the Hatch imploded, but wasn't activated until the Wheel was turned.

But, the hatch is there in the past, and the Island is still skipping. I don't think the skipping has anything to do with the hatch, unless you are saying that the Electromagnetic build-up, or lack thereof once the hatch imploded is causing the Island to skip. I think that is highly unlikely, the hatch is a very important station, but not THAT important.

The flashes of light are slowing down because the negatively charged exotic matter is cooling off again. When a black body is cold it does not emit EM. The exotic matter is a black body. The flashes of light are called Ultraviolet Catastrophies. That's why the exotic matter is in an ice cave. When it is cold it is "safe." When you turn the wheel it opens an apiture and it heats up.
