The construction guy said they took an image through the wall and took that picture - it;s the donkey wheel

Yes, that was the donkey wheel.....remember Ben had to access it from above the station....going down the ladder....that is when he scratched him arm.....

i think they or the island finnily stops and it stops on dharma time for what ever reason, or he waits at the orcid till the dharma day comes around and thats why hes there

I agree, I just posted something similar on another thread. I don't think Daniel was really there with the DI when the station was built, I think he might have taken advantage of the time shifts to sneak into the station to find out how Ben un-stuck the island in time.

yea i think when he was gone for 2 hours, he was messing around with that. or he has the same abilities as desmond did but he found a way to control them. I dont know but niether him nor richard are immortal, they just time travel some how lol. Best 2 hours of my life!

Maybe this is how Daniel got all his knowledge/info on concerning Dharma! Look forward to seeing the future episodes to see what happens next or how he got there. GREAT 2 hours!!

I'm not sure if the show specified how the picture was taken but Infrared was first available in 1910 and Sonar technology was patented in 1912 and 1913. So however they want to explain the Donkey Wheel Pic, I'm game. If the DI were using cutting edge technology of the time they were more than capable of taking that image.

I think Daniel was with the Dharma because the island just bounced to that time. He posed and pretended to be one of them, maybe to try and turn the wheel?

Daniel was part of the DI along with Mrs. Hawking, his mother. You will come to see this soon. I've been telling you guys that the DI did not use that wheel! There were no polar bears turning it ever! When Dr. Cheng saw that on the sonar picture he ordered them to stop. The DI never used the wheel. He tried to harness the power of the exotic matter from a safer distance in the Orchid. They used the pod in the Orchid for their experiments and that is more likely where the bear came from.

So, is another entrance to the Donkey Wheel on the other side of the construction? How did the DWheel get in the ground? Even if it's been there for years/decades/centuries.....someone ( the natives?) originally put it there. Plus the DI and Dr. Candle knew to build the Orchid in that exact location. So, how did the construction crew foolishly start drilling into the most " God help us all" dangerous place on Earth?

There are no other entrances to the ice caves where the donkey wheel is. Ben used the only entrance that there is.
Starboss, I keep telling everyone that the wheel was put there by the crew of the Black Rock. I believe that they were the first to stumble across the exotic matter in such a close fashion. There have been many who came to island in its past to use the powers but they did not put the wheel there. The wheel controls how much of the EM eminates from the matter. I keep saying that also. The crew of the Black Rock were minors and slave traders. They somehow became stranded on the island. They did what came naturally to them. They explored and mined the islands resources. They were freightened of what happened to them when they were close to the exotic matter. I am sure that several slaves died digging the tunnel from the time displacements. They knew it was valuable though and somehow that's where the Widmore's and Hanso's come into play. They did what they could to "control" it by covering it with something that obviously opens like an apature on a camera. This is what the wheel controls. It opens it and allows the exotic matter to get hot. When it is hot it releases huge amounts of EM which disrupt the spacetime continuum. Then later came Dharma and their scientists. Dr. Cheng discovered the powers of the EM and exotic matter. They began to build the Orchid for his experiments. They came too close to the exotic matter. That was basically the scene we watched last night. He ordered no more diffing and to wall off the Orchid right there. So, that's how the Orchid came about. The Swan and it's computer were built to control the release of the EM. By entering the numbers into the computer every 108 minutes it allowed small amounts of the EM to be safely released and cause no great harm. When the Swan imploded it caused the Ultraviolet Light Catastrophy. TPTB call it the Purple Sky Event. So.........this is what I've been saying for the longest time!!!!!! Watch and see.

I do not see that Daniel and Mrs. Hawking are against each other. Daniel is not fighting Ben. Daniel was part of the science team that Charles Widmore put together for when they got to the island. He is not a violent person, he is a quantum physicist. He is not fighting against his mother. Remember Ben keeps saying that he is one of the good guys? Well, he most definitely is although he has some personality defects. But it is those defects, the master manipulater and the sociopath, that keep him in control to protect the island. Ben is a good guy or at least, on the good guys team.

i think faraday was just time traveling when he saw the construction of the orchad station. remeber he shot a video with dr. candle shown in the dharma booth at comicon? farday sounded like he had already lived in the future and we heard form a earlier post the women at the end of last nights episode 2 is faradays mom the one desmond went to find and the lady that he met in the jewlery store and sold des the engagment ring.

Probably this has already been covered, but isn't it more likely that Richard does age normally? He just time travels to various points making it appear like he is eternal. Daniel would be doing the same. Although, what might actually be happening is that Richard causes everyone else to move in time and he stays put. This seems more consistent with what happened at the beginning with the Others disappearing.
