At that point, the Losties were in the future...those guys that were threatening Sawyer and Juliet had name tags but no DHARMA logos on their jackets...I think one's name was "Jones" or something on his jacket - and they weren't in any style of any jackets that ->I<- have seen on this series. Anyone else?

It was in the future because the plane had already fallen off the cliff and was covered with considerable plant growth. Those guys could be anyone, really. We probably don't have enough info yet to guess.
