Is it just me or did Ana Lucia specifically tell Hurley "Whatever you do DO NOT get arrested!" ????

OMG, I totally forgot that by the time he got himself arrested. (And obviously he did too - LOL). I bet he'll remember once he gets to jail and it'll make it hard (though not impossible knowing Ben) for them to get him out to go with them. Maybe Ana Lucia will show back up and unlock the jail door and take him out? I was stunned to see her back! This people coming back from the dead thing still confuses me unless they time travel from when they were alive, but that's far fetched.

Hurley did listen, just not to Ana Lucia. He listened to Sayid who first said "whatever Ben tells you to do, do the opposite."

but remember that Siad said Not to believe Ben, "to do the opposite what Ben tells him to do"

Yeah, I was actually proud of Hurley! He tricked Ben!

why couldn't Hurly just NOT go with Ben? What I want to know is how Ben knew that Jack and Sayid were together. Did Jack call him and tell him or was he spying and decided to play mindtricks with Hurley?
Either way I am glad that Hurley didn't go with Ben and stuck to his guns. I am however diappointed that Hurley decided to go against the advice of a dead person. If it were up to me, I'd rather listen to a spook than Ben. Afterall, spooks have more pull on the island than Ben does.

Ben wasn't lying. Jack was taking Sayid to the hospital, and before he actually took him in he called Ben and said something like "guess who showed up?" So Ben did know that Jack and Sayid were together.

Ben knew Jack and Sayid were together because Jack called Ben and told him he had Sayid.

As for Hurley turning himself into the police, he was following the advice of Sayid. Before they were attacked at the safehouse Sayid told Hurley if he ever had the misfortune of meeting Ben, Hurley should do the exact opposite of whatever Ben told him.

I agree that he should have listened to Anna Lucia, however, I would not have wanted to go with Ben either.

I mean, doesn't him (Ben) showing up surprise anyone?? Unless I am mistaken, the last time they saw him, he was on the island. Maybe Hurley thought he was imagining him too?

I think Sayid was the only person Ben was able to surprise, and he did. But Sayid told Hurley that Ben was off the island and he was working for him. Jack said that Locke told him Ben was off the island. And if Locke appeared to everyone else, then I'm sure he also told them that Ben was off the island. So I'm sure that they all figured it would only be a matter of time until Ben showed up.

Ben was definately up to something...He seemed to be sneaking around to talk to Hurley. Maybe thats just Ben's way, but I'm always suspicious that Ben is doing something off the radar.

Hurley just can't make good choices unless he's on the Island. Even with the guidance from Ana Lucia, Charlie, Mr. Eko, and whoever else.....He kept saying "I can't do this by myself." When he's on the Island, the HEALING properties keep him sane.

I'm not so sure Hurley made the smart decision there. In doing so he not only went against what Ana Lucia said (he will probably get a visit from Libby next convincing him to go back), but he also went against what he himself said. When they showed the scene of the O6 on the boat with Penny discussing if they would lie or not, they placed emphasis on hurley telling Sayid "one day you're gonna need me for something, and i'm not gonna help you".

I wonder if we will see Ana Lucias old partner from the police again, or maybe even her mother? this could be the way hurley gets out.
