I don't know if this will pan out to be correct but I'm thinking when Faraday disapeared for 2 hours he went to the Orchid station. I.E. The beginning of the episode when he was down there. I don't what if any signifigance this will have but I was seeing if anyone thought the same thing. What a way to start season 5 off!!!

Sawyer said, You have been gone for two hours. Faraday said he was looking for his bag.

Right - everyone went ahead and he told Charlotte to go ahead and that he forgot his bag.

That's when he knocked on the hatch and talked to Desmond about visiting his mother.

When they cut to the camp and show his coming out of the jungle, Sawyer asked where he had been for 2 hours. For him it might have been 5 minutes.

Yeap, my thoughts exactly. I said the same thing yesterday that while he was gone those two hours, he visited the Orchid. But, is that enought time to go there and back? Does anyone have a screen capture of the scene so we can see what he is wearing? If he is wearing the same clothes as the rest of the episode, then maybe he did walk to the Orchid and back?
I didn't record it, maybe xmas can post a screne capture of the scene in the orchid so we can see his clothes?

I believe that the reason that it took him two hours has to do with the fact that Desmond is Dan's constant. Think back to Dan's mouse experiment he shot the mouse's consciousness an hour into the future to learn an entire maze but the mouse was only out of it for like two min and i am betting it takes alot longer to learn a maze then an hour. So when you are with your constant you stop traveling and seeing as they were currently in the past when Dan bangs on the hatch the time difference would be in reverse i.e. Dan stayed further in the past for 5 min (the mouse when knocked out for 2min) then jumped 2 hours into the future to meet up with every one(the mouse's consciousness an hour into the future taking the time to learn the maze possibly over an hour) and it would seem like the 5 min to Dan was 2 hours to the others on the beach. what do you all think?

Thanks Xmas, that really doesn't tell us anything does it? It was a good idea.
OK, I have another question: when Desmond first meets Daniel after he drops from the helicopter, does he seem to recognise him at all? He should because of the meeting at the hatch. I don't remember. I mean, he remembered meeting Jack in the staium didn't he? That happened at least three years prior to them meeting again on the island.

again interesting. I felt on that episode, that somehow they had all met, or recongnized a saying, a feeling or a face, not quite to put it together but still that wonder?
