Mrs. Hawking's Computer

So I took a look at all the screencaps from the first 2 episodes and found a pic of Mrs. Hawking sitting in front of her computer.
I don't know if anyone saw it or it was discussed before before the computer has a little Dharma logo besides the screen.

Also the world map is correct. Many people said that the map is mirrored but it isn't. It's just not the normal view you usually have.
If you look into an atlas you have the USA on the left and on the right Europa, Africa etc. and then the ocean which leads back to the US.
But on the screen the map is just moved to the left so that you start with Australia, Asia etc. and then comes the ocean which leads to the US.
I first thought the map was mirrored to but it really isn't.

So, was/is Mrs. Hawking working for the DI?? If yes, why is Ben working together with her although he killed all the other members?

perhaps they are just using the DI equipment, same as ben & co were on the island?

The map position makes sense because it is focusing on the pacific ocean

Count the linear lines in each of linear diagrams and you will see a progression. I think. Starts with one drawing of 3, then there's one with four, etc.

Are these diagrams of where the "portal" to get back to the island is? When the linear line group reaches a critical number, will that be the 70 hour limit for getting back?

Now I'm thinking the exotic matter on the island is degrading and the linear lines indicate the island is getting more and more unstable. The lines may be show by their DECREASING numbers, just how close they are to NOT making it back in time.

It is hard to see the Dharma Icon clearly however could it be possible that this computer is in fact in the station we have come to call the "beacon" the logo looks similar to the one that was released in the weekly DI videos that where released as part of the game over the summer. is there anyone who has a clear or enhanced hd picture of the icon so we can make it out.

It seems to me the plot under the "D" in DETRMINED is about where the island might have been if the plane went from Sydney to L.A. then turned back towards Fiji. The plot way over in the Indian Ocean would account for the Drug Smuggler plane crash. That plot in the center of the screen had one of its lines blinking, which might mean it was the one the pendulum was currently plotting and may be the new location of the island in 70 hours. And that one plot way up north might account for polar bears...

The star-like lines are from what the Foucault Pendulum is recording. When Mrs. H. was at the blackboard she was writing equations that determine Probability and Moment Problems. There was mathematical notation that shows those as well as gravitational acceleration on the board. The Foucault Pendulum gives her other numbers to plug into her equations, which show location on earth taking the earths rotation into account as well as where the location in the galaxy. I wrote a whole thread about it. I think it was What Mrs. Hawking was doing or something. The bottom line is, she was trying to figure out where and when the island is, how many times it will move and its location in spacetime with each move. All she figured out was they had 70 hours. She may have discovered that after 70 hours the probability of the island returning to the same spacetime it originally left would be a very, very long time away, if it was able to return at all and they would never be able to get back.

I am thinking that as well... I think in 70 hours they will have to be on the island or the whole space time thing will get messed up and the island will no longer exist and everyone on it or has been on it will die... Or maybe even something on a larger scale hence both Dr Hanso, and Eloise both saying "God help us all".

If Locke really ever left the Island and jumped to 2007....and the bunch goes to visit Mrs. Hawking to get back to the Island.....and when they arrive there....they see only an old computer to make the calculations....??

Or they are still having all of the some psychosis even when they are off Island now.
Or they never left the Island.

Why would smart people like Hawking and Widmore still use "low tech" computers, to calculate difficult equations?
They made the spectators believe that Faraday was the one involved to calculate the right bearings. If they are off Island and in 2007 Faraday's more recent hardware should be available not?
They had high tech phones when they arrived with the freighter....but never did some renovation of the old DI stuff? Duh?

And what about the sentence "EVENT WINDOW DETERMINED"?

I asked a few geeks how they would interpret this when they see it on their screen.
They would interpret it as procesmonitoring is going on.
One of the programs running....and you check out how it is progressing and if errors do occur. So you choose one of the processes that are running and take a closer look into it.
So only the process you want to monitor is determined....not anything else yet of the process itself.

At the time those computers were new, a lot of the software that was written was very dependant on the hardware. Programmers wrote using specific memory locations and a lot of the Apple stuff was very proprietary, so it only worked with their hardware. It is vey possible that they have not been able to re-produce the original programming on any newer systems,
