Okay I may have seen bits and pieces of this somewhere on here, but I need help putting these pieces together.
I think we all agree that the "lawyers" that appeared at Kates house were Ben's people. But what about the "cops" staking out Hurley's house. If they really think this guy murdered 3 people don't you think they would do more than knock on the door and say "hey is Hugo home?" I would think that the police would arrive with a search warrant at some point looking for a man that just escaped a mental institution and then killed 3 people. Thats some serious sh*t. Plus Sayid seemed to have no issues working for Ben, so his sudden turn by telling Hurley to do the complete opposite of whatever Ben tells him looks like a setup. They knew that they would have trouble getting Hurley to go back to the island. He is now in the custody of the "police" which now gives him a little less leverage to make a decision to not go back.

This all leads me to this point. Ana Lucia told Hurley to not get arrested. Claire told Kate to not take Aaron back there. I can't remember what Charlie told Hurley though on the bench outside of the institiute. My question now is, are the people that have died on the island Ana Lucia, Claire (I believe she is dead) trying to keep the O6 from returning to the island. Perhaps working for Christain? Please, your thoughts.

First, the lawyer cr*p was bogus. You can't get such a court order without: 1) divulging the identity of your client; and 2) Giving Kate notice of just the attempt for a court order. You can also add that two lawyers are not qualified to draw blood samples. So, either major continuity problems or these are Ben's guys to force Kate to make desperate moves.

Now, as for Charlie and Claire, they gave warnings not to return "him" back to the Island. The obvious reference is to Aaron and that they are trying to protect him. But others are speculating that they are trying to keep Ben or Locke from returning. Ana Lucia, on the otherhand, did not issue such a warning, and it is not clear whether she is helping to get them back to the Island or not. Also, it is not clear as to whether Claire is alive or dead.

I agree completely with the lawyers being bogus. They weren't interested in determining if Aaron was really Kate's son or not. They were there to force Kate's hand, so that she would have to leave her life behind.

When I first saw the preview, I assumed the lawyers were Ben's men. But after seeing the episode I had a feeling that they could have worked for Sun. It was very convienent that Sun happened to be in LA the same day two strange men show up at Kate's house, forcing her to go on the run.

You know, every time we are lead to believe something is a sure thing, it aways seems to not be. How many people have said that "as soon as I saw the lawyers, I knew they were Ben's guys"? I did! It just seems to obvious.

After reading this post, I am starting to think you might be correct. Kate just so happened to receive a call from Sun after running away. The way she answered you could tell she wasn't expecting her call, "Oh, its you!" Kate said when she answered the phone. Sun could have sent them to spook her into running. That way she would be more open to influence from a friend, Sun.

Both scenarios make sense so who knows.

There is only one thing that is predictable with this show, and that is its unpredictability!

It's crazy. It all makes sense and sometimes it does not.
