What is the Arrow station? Is this a new station or was it a part of the originals?

It is not new. It is where the Tail-Section Losties stayed for a while when they found it. The same place they took Jin, Sawer, and Michael. It was supposedly used by the DI to gather intelligence and develop strategies against the Hostiles.

We first saw it early on in Season 2(I think it was in "Everybody Hates Hugo," but I could be wrong). We found out that the tallies were using it in order to hide from the Others. Later on, in "The Other 48 Days," we learn that they'd found a few things there(from what I can recall, they were a glass eyeball and the Book of Laws, which contained the clip Razinzky cut out of the Swan's orientation film).
Much later, we learn that Horace(the person responsible for getting Roger and Ben to the island) worked at that station, or at least had the logo for it. Now that we know that the Arrow was used as some sort of defense station against the Hostiles, we know that Horace could have some kind of connection to them and whether or not he actually built the cabin for Jacob.

It wasnt' the Book of Laws that Richard brought to young John, it was just a regular bible.

I'd say they could reveal more about the Arrow station this season if they had Candle mention it even for a second in the first episode!

This station looked just like a cave, didn't it? Like, very dirty and stuff like that.

When we saw the Arrow with the Tailies it looked like a hallway from the door that lead to one main room. But I was thinking that they could always pull a move like they did at the Staff. When Juliet moved a secret wall and a whole other equipped operating room appeared.
Maybe there's a whole other area to the Arrow with cells, and interogation rooms?

Maybe I'm off base here, but some thing seems odd about using the station for gathering intelligence. Doesn't this imply it would be a secret facility used for spying? Assuming the answer is yes, here is what I find odd.
The hostiles were there before Dharma, thus they would have bore witness the building of these stations. They would all require major excavation and construction, which would attract attention. Then it would take some time for the vegetation to over grow and conceal the facility. Therefor, how can Dharma spy from a location that the hostiles would certainly know about?
Am I just nit-picking here? If not, I'm hoping it hints at a much larger timeline conspiracy that we are so far unaware of....

I interpreted "gather inteligence and develop strategies" as more of a war room and interogation area, rather than a video surveilance area.

That is a good point...I guess they built the sonar fence to keep the hostiles (and Smokie) out, before they could do the major building of the stations.

Unless I am wrong, the sonic(?) fence just protects their village area. The Dharma stations are scattered through out the island and not protected by the fence.
I was kind of suggesting that maybe these stations were built in one time era in anticipation of them being used in another era.

I think you might be on to something about the "future" of the stations and the purpose. I think the fence might also be to keep out animals too. After reading this I was wondering...what about the looking glass? That station was under water. And about how everyone thought that the two girls went to Canada.

Wonder if the glass eye once belonged to Mikhail(?) ;)

In the orientation video when Roger and Ben first arrived it said the fence was there to protect them from the island's (was it unique?) wildlife.....or something to that effect. I can find the actual quote if you'd like.
