A Lot of Questions Answered

This show was great. It answered quite a bit of questions. I think that we can now be almost positive that the island is located in a different space time continum. Jack asks if the Red Sox really won the Series, although the pilot did not give a direct answer, Jack followed by saying "I can't believe we have been here 100 days". This scene is followed by Faraday getting the package sent by Regina which shows up, I believe 30 minutes after it was supposed to. The question about Ben not aging is also revealed when Sayid finds foreign money and all of his passports. He ages because he does leave the island frequently. Of course we know that Richard does also, but perhaps not as much as Ben does. We all have been wondering who was in the casket. I was unsure and still am to a degree. I think that Ben stands out a little more after this episode as being that person. I am guessing that he probably went under a different name to protect himself off of the island. The clipping said that he hung himself which could be true, but it also could have been made to look like a suicide.

In the season 3 finale Jack went to the funeral home and was looking at a newspaper clipping of the deceased. It was enhanced and posted and said a man from New York, John Lantham was found in his apartment after hanging himself. You are right about the son, we don't know, I just thought that it seemed like it could be Ben. The article could have been completely bogus to cover up who Ben really was. The only person we know who has a teenage son is Micheal.

Good point, maybe there isn't anyone in the box!! It makes more sense for Jack to freak out with Ben being in the box then Michael, or anyone else that I can think of. Ben knows why people cannot leave the island. Jack was shaken up by his death because he realizes that he should have stayed, hence, he needs to go back. Also, it explains why Kate says to Jack, why would I go to the funeral. Kate appears in the finale that she has moved on with her life and has no desire to go back. Jack still has unfinished business.

could have been. either way it is a reference point to how long they have been on the island to set up the whole time space deal.

Yah thats what he said, I thought he might say its been a 100 days since I've been on this island but he said since he's watched a baseball game. Hm I wonder why Jack didn't want to go with him on the heli? I figured since it looked to him like Kate stayed with Sawyer that he'd wanna get the hell off that island. Good ol' Jack wants to stay and be a hero :)

if ben was in the casket, then it would make sense for jack to freak out. ben was the only tie they had to the island and pretty much the only person who knew how to get back. jack is pissed because he wants to go back to the island and now , if ben dies, he has no one who knows how to get there.

I agree Green, I think Ben is probably the one in the casket....which is why no one was there to see him. He was probably going by another name which is why the newspaper obituary had someone starting with the letter J in it.

I wondered the same thing. I though Jack would have jumped at the chance to get to the boat. There has to be a reason Jack stayed behind..can't wait to find out what it is :)
