i know it was pretty wierd 4 me too....but...maybe he is a vet and knows how to work on the animals...after all he has something to do with experimentation....had had contact with bunny 14..lol.....and he was in a vet office or somewhere like that

i think that from what we've seen in these 3+ seasons, Ben can be just about anything and anywhere that he wants and since he is extremely intelligent i doubt he would have problems picking up enough medical knowledge to remove a bullet

Ben is still very much a mystery...they really haven't told us what he did at the Darma Initiative, so it's likely that he does have some medical training considering how intelligent he is. My question is, WHAT THE HELL IS SAYID DOING WORKING FOR BEN AS AN ASSASSIN??? Please excuse the shouting...I'm feeling much better now. LOL

Oh, and I maybe a newbie here, but I've been glue to the TV set since episode one.

He is a teriffic creep. He is powerful but not all-powerfull, and he knows alot but I think he still get's very much surprised by events but because he's use to them and he "exploits" what he can. He has a mission, but it isn't really "island" sent. I think Locke is "island" sent and Ben is in a panic that his reign of terror is at an end.

i agree. i think that ben is intimidated by locke. i believe that this is why he is now off the island and working with sayid. as far as the doctor thing, i'm pretty sure he is smart enough to do what ever the heck he wants.

I think the Kennel was a front so on the outside it looks like a vet office maybe. I asked that question too, I didnt know he had the ability to remove a bullet wound. It def was a lost wtf moment.

ummm - the red cross sign isn't because he's a doctor, it's because the passport is a Swiss passport (and if you notice, it's not actually a 'red cross', it's a 'white cross' which is part of the Swiss flag.)

Hello. I just looked at the passport. DOB shows as 3rd March 1962. Was that the actual date he was born based on the episode I saw?
