The polar bear could have been in the room with the bear, and someone turned the wheel to get away from the bear? either way, the bear in the desert had a dharma tag so the timeframe of the wheel turn has to be 70s or after.

widmore has never mentioned jacob, or been in a conversation directly using that name. he might not even know much about him.

richard called widmore "widmore". it seems very impersonal, it doesnt seem like he likes him.

1950s richard says "this is our island". I wonder where they came from (richard, ellie etc.)

Oh I forgot the one I wanted to post about in the first place:

so Locke tells richard Jacob sent him from the future. What we can tell from richards reaction is that he knows who jacob is, and it seems important to him. So whoever jacob is, something must have happened to him that would lead richard to believe its possible he sent someone back in time from the future.

When Locke said that Jacob sent him, I got a slightly different impression. As we know now, Jacob has an ability to allow only certain people to see him or hear him. Therefore, it is likely that nobody outside the circle of the Others and their leader knows about Jacob. So when a complete stranger says "Jacob sent me" I got the idea that Richard realized Locke may be telling the truth, because there is no way he would know about Jacob unless he was a part of the Others.

That is a good point.
