crazy theory about wildmore

dont know how exactly this would work. but desmond and penny named thier child charlie. well what if that charlie is actually charles wildmore. when desmond and penny go back to the island, it may be in the 30rs or whatever. ben kills penny and desmond, and charlie is actually wildmore. i know its crazy and i dont even know if i agree with it, but is that possible?

I would say probably not. I think Widmore is Penny's father not her son pretending to be her father. I would not put it past the writer's however to make Penny and Desmond's son "Charlie" THE Charlie. Wouldn't it be something if Desmond finds out that he watched his own son die without even knowing it and he is going to let it happen again by getting his family pulled back to the island.

Charlie the musician had an older brother Liam. As this is Penny and Desmonds first child it would not make sense for it to be The Charlie. I thought the same thing too when I saw the episode, but my buddy set me straight.

We could always have a little Charlie adoption. We've only ever seen Charlie from the age of 6, i'd guess. That gives us a few years for him to end up in being adopted by the Pace's.

It could also add more to Charlie's family and abandonment issues.

How do you know that little Charlie is their first child? There could be an older brother that we just haven't seen, right? Of course, like others have said, there could be an "abandonment" think or adoption. I think it could be possible that their baby is our rock star Charlie.

to be honest, i'd love to see charlie hume become charlie pace. all that would have to happen is for some good ol' time jump and either purpose or accidental abandonment or adoption.

if charlie hume turns out to be charlie widmore, i will never watch the show again. it's just stupid to me. this would essentially mean:

-penny gave birth to her father
-desmond is married to his grand-daughter
-widmore's mother is also his daughter
-widmore's father is having sex with his daughter

just doesn't make any sense IMO. :)

On the enhanced version last week, it said that Penny and Desmonds child was named after Charlie Pace (rock star).
So i dont think it is charlie pace or charlie widmore. Its just penny and des's kid

How can Whidmore be 70 years old and a toddler at the same time in present day? Think about that. Not only does that make zero sense, we already know that Charles Whidmore was on the island in 1954 as an late teen/young 20-something. How in the heck does Penny travel back to 1930-something and give birth to her father so he could end up on the island 20 years later. Then, give birth to him again 70 years later so he could co-exist with himself in present day as his own grandson...

Also, how can little Charlie be a toddler present day and also be 30's Charlie three years ago? That makes just as little sense.

Penny and Desmond's son is named after Charlie who sacraficed his life to save Desmond's in the underwater station. That simple.

Just for the sake of presenting a plausible scenario...

Maybe Penny was Widmores ADOPTIVE daughter all along.
Desmond takes little Charlie back to the island and "loses" him 70(?) years in the past. 3 year old Charlie Hume is raised by the Others and becomes Charles Widmore. In his 30's(?) he turns the wheel and ends up back in civilization. He finds his mother as a baby in an orphanage and ADOPTS her. Due to the time travel, Charlie/Charles is already middle-aged when his mother was born! As Penny reaches adulthood, things play out exactly as we have already seen on the show. I'm not saying this is what the writers have in mind, but IMO, this is anexplanation to how Penny can give birth to her own father.
I think a lot more can be added to this theory, such as explaing why Widmore didn't want Desmond to marry Penny, but that would be speculating speculation.
BTW, I was just approximating the years and dates.
