what if all the losties sit through the jumps until they come to the time when Ben turned the wheel, they have to stop him from doing so, but instead turn it back ???

I get what you're saying but I see it being more like when Des was shifting. Once he found his constant it stopped happening, I think it's similar for the island and the constant will turn out to be the 06 and or Ben/Walt.

I think I understand what youre saying..thats why its so important for the 06 to come back..to help control the jumping to the time its supposed to be.
