I don't think there was an actual ship called the Black Rock. As for the list, is Jack Sparrow on it?

From what I have extrapolated, the Ship was probably more of a prison ship maybe headed from England to Australia. I think that's what they used to do.

the black rock is the pirate ship that sawyer killed sawyer you could say.lockes dad. where they get the dynomite to blow the hatch.
widmore is obsessed with it, watch in his bedroom he has a painting of the black rock and he paid 300,000 $ or somewhere in that ball park for i think maybe the manifest? at the auction where desmond comes to see him.i beleive in the constent episode. what ever it was it was a log book or something from the black rock. my girl freinds theory is that widmore is a pirate from the black rock.you can picture him saying walk the plank with that voice. but then we saw him in the 50's so im not sure if his obsession is just because it is island related and he hasnt been there in so long that any thing that reminds him of the island he collects. look at his crazy polar bear paintings in his office.
but i know i have never seen the book so im not sure about this list.but of course i could have missed it .i wouldnt mind seeing it.

According to Lostpedia.........
The Black Rock set sail from Portsmouth, England March 22, 1845, purportedly on a trading mission to the Kingdom of Siam (now Thailand). The ship was believed to have been lost at sea. Seven years later, the journal of the ship's first mate was discovered among the artifacts of pirates on Īle Sainte-Marie, an island off the coast of Madagascar. This journal was believed to be the only surviving remnant of the Black Rock's ill-fated final voyage. ("The Constant")

At the time the Black Rock sailed, England was still transporting convicts to Australia. Portsmouth, England was one of the departure ports for these voyages.

I figured that they would somehow explain the group that had attacked the others in the 1950's when Widmore was a young lad. I think it's safe to assume the Black Rock would have been a prisoner tranport headed to Australia the ship was then somehow was trapped inland when the island materialized after a time jump/when the island was moved.

I think it may also now be a reasonable assumption that perhaps Widmore befriended some of those stranded prisoners on the Black Rock. Maybe he is planning a mutiny (sp?) to overthrow Richard with the help of these would be inmates.

Maybe there's some sort of treasure with the Black Rock. One that is more valuable than money, as Widmore seems to have enough of that to finance his wildest dreams.
