So the time of the payload rocket was off, but the aim seemed to be on.

Is it because of some equipment Dan had set up? Or was it just a dangerously accurate shot. I mean there was not a lot of room for error.

So I am not sure why the bearing was so important.

When the payload arrived the clock inside was at like 2:45 and the clock he had with the beacon was 3:16 - so there is a 'time shift' going on.

They need to follow the coodinates exactly (in the helecopter) of they may not get back to the right 'time'

I've seen a spoiler that in 2 epsiodes, Sayid and Desmond have an 'interesting' ride to the ship.

i think its like a missile effect - its locked onto the equipment/sat phone that dan set up

Yah I agree...and did anyone else notice that when Desmond point blank asked Frank if he knew Penelope Widmore, Frank looked back at Dan and they both looked at each other and thats when Frank said "no". I think they know who she is BUT Penny doesn't. I'm sure they are all working for her dad's company....they even said Naomi was senior manager so they never talked to her....but I also think the other fab 4 are there for their own little missions seeing as Charlotte and Dan wanted to stay to research the island.

Hey Dz. I thought the casual attitudes of Charlotte and Dan were quite bizarre. Yes, we have been through a night of hell, hostage taking, guns, shootings, a dead leader, but hey no big whoop, we'll just hang here for a while, even though the chopper is the only way out. We have no clue about food and shelter, and we are in the middle of a little war, but we'll hang for while. Oh, and not to mention that if the chopper waivers from its bearing, we'll never see it again.

i am wondering in frank is on a different mission in secret? maybe he is just latching onto this one to get onto the island.

I think Dan and Charlotte are truly just mad scientists trying to satisfy there scientific curiosty. They are so focused on this, they block most other stuff out. I have met similar types in my line of work.
I Think Miles on the other hand has his important specialty, but is also a greedy opportinistic tool.
Frank, I think is curious and with good intention on trying to find out the story behind 815 so far. At this point I think he is there because he is a good pilot along for the ride.

Yah I think each of them were eager to get on this island for particular missions of their own. Remember Frank seemed close with the pilot of flight 815 and he was supposed to BE flying the plane so the question is...why didn't he fly it? Did he know this would happen?? If so, what else does he know? Maybe he chose the mission because he has some unfinished business or has some ties to the island himself?

You would also think that Frank would not be so casual and would be questioning the hell out of Jack about who survived, not discussing the Red Sox. Especially asking about his pilot buddy. Then Jack would have to explain about how some smoke monster yanked the pilot out of the cockpit and... Yeah, right pal. You could say Frank may be trying to gain Jack's confidence.

Ok. What i am wondering is if Daniel knew about the properties of the island before he asked for the payload to be sent or if it was his observation of the improper scattering of light that gave him this inspiration.

He truely is a headcase though lol. The way he acts he seems like a skitzo personality.

I agree lawgiver, I mean Frank is obviously trying be super chummy to Jack and seems to be working...so far Jack seems to think that these people are here to rescue them so he's not being an ass to them at all. I'm sure Frank has alterior motives on that island but part of me thinks he's a pretty good guy....but then again its those guys you have to watch out for! All in all (good or bad) I'm really starting to like Frank's character :)
