When I read the theory on the whispers actually being the 'losties' traveling through time, I thought it was great theory and possible true fact. However, reading it again, I thought about when Sawyer saw kate with Claire, and remembered that we heard no whispering during this scene. Now perhaps this is b/c the 'losties' were realizing that they should remain silent to ensure they not affect the past and/or future. Still not completely convinced, I recalled when the producers spoke about the whispers and explained that we hear whispers when something 'bad' is about to happen. I don't think they said it was a definite reason, but a definite possibility.
