Forgive my ignorance, but what was the significance of the red star sticker on Jin’s shirt?

I was asking myself the same thing. It looked like one of those craft things, ya know when someone turns 50 and you buy a bunch of 5's and 0's made of that stuff.
Where the hell did it come from?

Maybe a brand of shirt. Google red star on back of shirt.

I was thinking the same thing, it did look like sticker it was very strange.

I was thinking it could have been something placed there by the wardrobe department to make sure he was wearing the correct shirt.
But it’s so visible that it distracting, surely someone noticed.

I am not sure if there is any relation, but Sam Austen has a red star patch on his uniform. His patch has an "A" in the center. Apparently his patch represents The Sixth United States Army. Not sure if there is any connection there, but it is a red star on a piece of clothing.

I think it could be a Communinst connection (Russian or North Korean) or some type of Mafia symbol.

There was that Russian guy with the eye patch, and Jin's employer (Sun's father) seemed to be a mafia boss of sorts. Although Jin was from South Korea, maybe there were ties back to communist North Korea (they use red star symbol).

In the Grand Theft Auto video games, the Russian mafia characters use a Red Star symbol. :)

Maybe Dharma had a communist agenda, and Jin picked up one of their t-shirts.

doesn't it seem like a sticker that someone stuck on Jin while he wasn't aware of it? Sort of like a "kick me" sign.

Maybe it's just a small cut on his back that bled in the shape of a star.

In school here in Australia we used to get star stickers when we did something good or solve an answer etc. maybe Jin has been a good boy.
