the point was that people wanted to see it. plus we got to see smokey and a little piece of the temple. and see that smokey(or the temple) can influence peoples actions

We know that the men went down that hole and were changed when they came out. It wasn't temporal displacement. Rouseau's husband tried to kill her. She knew he wasn't really her husband. Did the same thing happen to Christian?

how can u say that it shows how they were infected it showed where the smoke monster comes from and it proves that rousseau wasnt crazy and her team were infected

I disagree. I thought it was great seeing Rousseau, getting to see a little background of her people and it actually confirmed that she wsa telling the truth and her people that went down the hole did actually go crazy from the others fence thing or whatever he said.

Seems to me you learn a lot from Rousseau. U found out she was telling the truth about her team going crazy and having to kill them. How the smoke monster was a protecter for the temple.

the nugget of this episode was to show us the temple and smokey...we now know that smokey isn't the secruity system of the island but rather the secruity system of the temple and those symbols on the temple (same that were seen by locke in the hatch when he didn't push the button as a warning)

Only the last bit about being changed is interesting. As for the rest how Montand lost his arm or what the temple looked like --who cares. That's minor to the story. Danielle was in the jungle for 16 years--no explanation. In the life raft they carried rifles. Why??? Why did the leave Tahiti?? Did they work for someone--Widmore maybe??? That's what I expected to get some answers to. Not stuff that we knew or that is pretty much secondary to the story. Yeah seeing the smoke monster was kinda cool, but as said before--why bother.

Maybe there was no reason for there crashing on the island. Maybe that is not the end of the Rousseau story. Like you said she was there for 16 years they might show something later down the line. They only showed a the 1st few months. Wasn't she still preggo? Like why Ben let her live after her took Alex... maybe this is all we need to know for now.

When you enter the Temple like that does it use your body for something else? Is it using Echo's body? The pilot? Christian's body? Why would they want to kill Daniel R.? Is it because she was pregnant and it doesn't want babies on the Island?

I think what is gonna be more interesting is WHY smokie was TAKING montand to the TEMPLE just like it was gonna take LOCKE in the episode when they had the dynamite..........obviously smokie was taking LOCKE to the TEMPLE at that time it didnt wanna hurt LOCKE like it did to ECKO the 2nd time!

the temple secondary? i highly doubt it if its what smokie protects. in fact i doubt we can even put a finger on what is primary after tonights episode. this whole time we thought ben did locke a favor by turning the wheel, when in fact he messed everything up. and when eloise says, "they'll have to do for now." when only two of the O6 were present. whats for now? i thought they all had to be there? so until the show ends we'll be questioning and second guessing everything we see.

I think we will for sure. Pretty sure they will show how/when Ben took Alex at least.
