I have sooooo been saying this for a while now and people have been like "duuuuuuhhhh, what are you talking about how do you know this" about island time being slower than realtime.

I know I'm busted Navy and totally agree with you now. You were right, I was wrong.
Will it help if I just spontaneuosly stand at attention here at work and begin singing "Anchors Away" ?LOL LOL

Hahaha no worries Robo, everyone has theories on here and we're all going to be wrong and we're all going to sometimes be right :) This show is crazy confusing, I would have NEVER thought time travel or delayed time initially soo I was in shock too. Although I had the same theory as you navyguy after seeing the Orchid Station video....I'm so excited to see where the writers are going with this. I still confuses me because its ONLY 31 minutes back in time?? Doesn't seem like much.

Right but think about this.....its 31 minutes difference relative to the location of the freighter. There is still the fact of Oceanic's December 31st 2007 date.

okay so it took roughly 10-15 seconds for regina on the boat to countdown the payload but 31 minutes had passed,

so that is quite a time difference

does that make richard or ben even older than he looks,

if times was moving super slow though it would mean that ben should not have aged as much as he has between us seeing him arrive on the island and then the purge which seems to have happened between the mid and late 80s - so ben arrives in 1970 and say 18 years have passed - he appears to have actually aged the correct amount.

but richard in 2004 still looks the same as he did in 1970 so why did ben age more than richard seems to have in 30 odd years?

I'd say Bunny because he seems to be able to come and go off the island when he chooses. With his time speeding and slowing like that, he may age correctly. Don't know if Richard has left the island or not.

richard has as he went to recruit juliet

Alex seems to be on a natural aging curve, as does her mother. There may have to be some connection to being born on the island. Ben was not born on the island, therefore natural aging.

bunnydixon
02-15-2008, 09:44 PM
yeah but how do you age naturallly if time has slowed down?

thelawgiver
02-15-2008, 09:50 PM
I don't think time is really slow, but rather the island may be just a constant 31 minutes behind real time.

bunnydixon
02-15-2008, 09:52 PM
oh never looked at it that way! thanks! lol!!!

Bunny, have you eaten too many of those deep fried MilkyWays?
And speaking of Scottish Food, I did go to a recent Robert Burns party and had some Haggis (terrible). But they displayed all things Scottish and some strange packagaged foods. One of them, and I kid you not, was called "Heinz's Spotted D**k".
