After careful consideration of what we know about Charlottes past, I 've come to one big conclusion. CHARLOTTE & PENNY ARE SISTERS! :eek:!!
I'll do the math. We know that Charles Widmore was on the Island in the past. We know that Daniel told the girl that took him to the bomb that she looked like "Her". He was probably talking about Charlotte.
We don't know the history of how Charlotte & Charlotte's Mom got off the Island and we don't know about Charles W leaving either.
We do know that Charles was with the others.

If you think about it, It makes sense.

My theory is that the girl who brought Daniel to the bomb is Teresa, she could be Charolette's mother... who I also suspect is the lady in that hospital bed. I think that Daniel sent her mind back in time to keep her from allowing Charlotte back to the island.
It would explain why Charlotte told Daniel that her mother had said that the island wasn't real. Maybe that was Daniel's message to Charlotte to keep her from trying to find it.

The girl who brought Daniel to the bomb was eloise hawking. she even talks with the same contempt in her voice. For charlotte to be Annie she would have to be in her fortys which she clearly isnt. charlotte could however be Annies daughter, along with theresa and abigaile spensor Charlotte being eldest of three. Annie could have had her first child at about 20.

She is Ellie, who we believe is his mother and he is saying that she looks like her (his mother), who is Ms. Hawking.

Annie was young Ben's love interest in Season 3 Episode 20 "The Man Behind the Curtain". I do not believe she's been identified in any other episode since then, the question of who she is remains to be answered.

I just remembered something Nann. in season 1 locke has a dream in which he see's his mom, ecko's brother's plane, and boone covered in blood saying "teresa falls up the stairs, teresa falls down the stairs" do you think it could be related to the girl in the hospital bed?

he deff knows about his mom being involved with the island . . . thats why he told Desmond to find his mother . . . thats why I think Ellie is Eloise . . . but who knows . . . there's always a twist
