Ben's Voice or Someone Else

Okay. Did anyone else notice that when Sayid stumbled into the animal clinic that you hear the voice of someone telling him to take off his shirt, etc., but it does not at all sound like Ben? Then, once you see Ben, the voice becomes his own. Was this just done to mask the Ben surprise or is Ben a shape shifter or impersonator? Was there another person in the room?

yeah, it was ben all along, but just became clearer after the big reveal

if you listen to it again...which i did..you can pick out his accent in the distortion.

Actually I have to disagree, I watched it again this morning and it sounds JUST like Ben...in fact when I watched it for the first time I recognized the voice right off the bat but couldn't think of where I had heard it. Then once they showed Ben it was so obvious. Great twist! :)

as soon as i heard it i shouted out 'that sounds like ben but with a deeper voice'. there was till that recognisable drawn out thing that he does to words but it seemed in a deeper tone than usual (which would confirm my several bens wafflage!)

Just a decoy thing then or is Christian standing in the far corner? I never can think of Christian as a vast conspirator, only an egotisical drunk surgeon.

I was thinking maybe in the room as well. But I dropped that once I saw Ben. Who knows, maybe they're in cahoots.

well even though i heard bens voice i half expected to see christian with all the talk about him being alive.

however,i think christian is a red herring. there are too many obvious hints toward him in episodes.

Yah I def don't think Christian Shepard is just a red herring...I def think he holds some sort of significance to what is going on, we just don't know what is yet?

Did you notice that the voice that Sayid hears when he calls about making "first contact" with the killer chick is definitely NOT ben's? whose is it i wonder?

I immediately thought it was Ben's voice. His speech pattern is really distinctive. They obviously made an effort to mask the voice itself.

Yah I think Michael Emmerson (thats his name right?) is a phenominal actor and he portrays Ben perfectly! I love his character and it makes the show soo great....I recognized his voice but he did mask it in a way where you couldn't pin point it exactly. Ahh he was just so good last night! :)

I saw Michael Emmerson on Dinner and a Movie once and he was so funny. He would switch between his normal personality (happy, funny) and then he would be Ben from Lost, but only as long as he could hold in his laughter. I guess he really has to be in the mood to act like he does.

Ya but know he has a point... cuz it DEFINITELY sounded a little different at first... it sounded like a mixure of ben and jacks dad (christian) not seperately but together... It sounded like Bens voice with the deepness of jacks dad's voice. NOOO i do NOT think jacks dad was there at all talking... i think it was ben the whole time. but he did sound a lot different at first. So in my opinion, i think the lost guys changed it a tiny bit to create a guess into a surprise. I honestly thought ("great... we aren't gonna find out who the speaker is this episode")

If it was to be anybody when the voice the voice was masked I would have to agree that it would be Jack's dad, but to counter I thought that it was for dramatic effect and when I really listened it did sound like Ben's usual pattern of talking. I am going to make a stand and say Ben the whole time.

I def think the voice was Michael Emmerson's the whole time, just lowered and toned down....I think they did that so it would completely shocking to see that Sayid's boss was Ben...haha and I must say it worked!! I had at first thought it might Christian Shepard some how....man they really need to start answering some questions regarding him. :mad:
