Sayid's in the coffin

Maybe it is Sayid in the coffin. Ben said that he had a new name for Sayid, and we don't know what it is yet. And because he works for Ben that's why no one would go to his funeral. He doesn't really know anyone in the states other than the people on the plane so he wouldn't have people here coming to his funeral. And the other survivors are mad because he is sided with Ben. Just a thought.

How would jack know though that it's Sajid, basically why should jack go to the funeral? also does Sajid have a son?

At the funeral the undertaker asks whether Jack is friend or family. Jack replies "neither". If it is Sajid then Jack has to fall out with him.

well because of the hi-res image of the obit that we have seen, as soon as anyone is refered to as john lantham we are all going to collectively go...AHA!!!! hes in the coffin...

is it that simple or am i missing something?

Ben had all those passports and could have the alias "John Latham" but then I've wondered if we see two different flash forwards in the ending of Season 3. Either 2 timelines or 2 parallels in the parallel universe idea. Jack refers to his dad upstairs to the guy in the ER which makes me think there's more than one time going on.

I think it was mentioned that the obituary used was just a prep , it wasn't made for the show specifically, so the text is irrelevant (it was supposed not be readable at all)

I disagree I think the text is VERY relevant....the show doesn't put random props in for no reason....everything they put in the show is strategically placed along with how the camera angles capture them. This show knows how the fans are so they put tons of 'easter eggs' out there for us to find and use. I def think they were showing some insight as to who was in the coffin but wouldn't show us too much so that we could start theorizing.

We've still only got 4 of the six right? Hurley, Jack, Kate and Sayid. Ben doesnt count he wasnt on the plane. Did i miss something?

My theory about the coffin - It's someone that no one cared about because A) Kate said "Why would I go to the funeral" and B) nobody else but Jack went. I think it could be Locke... I mean, no one expects that he is one of the ones that comes back from the island, but it would be twist if he did... I mean, I still haven't figured out how Hurley got back if he went with Locke instead of Jack... There's no telling what will transpire between where they are now on the island and when they actually get off the island...

I also think it would be someone that had a strong effect in Jack's life, since he seems sooo affected by it that he almost committs suicide....I'm going with either Ben or Locke.
