As I mentioned in my thread on this episode, he does seem very significant. I wonder if he was the token middle eastern guy to try to recreate sayid being on the flight! ha..

Actually, i noticed something.. didn't the opening credits show an actor named Sayid (Spelled SAID)?? Maybe this was him???

I was trying to remember if there was someone who was told to buckle their belt during the original crash... anyone remember? But this guy is definitely going to be seen again... it was really interesting how he was giving his condolences to Jack at the airport.

Ha, I noticed that name in the beginning as well. I just thought maybe they get some of the character names from the actual names of some of the people in the show. Idk. But yea, I'm sure we'll be seeing more of him. I wonder who he is .. ?

He looked a lot like his Commander from the Republican Guard to me. The one he tortured to find out where the pilot was. Since he's a new character, it must be the casting department up to their same old dirty tricks by casting actrs who look similar to ones they have used in the past! It makes my head hurt!

Didn't it seem like they were "creating" characters to represent all of the original Losties on the flight though? Why was Sayid being extradited to Guam?! That seems like a strange place to be taken to...even for a connecting flight!?

Yeah I'm quite sure he has been inside one of Sayid's Flashbacks.

Ditto on that. Just watched that movie two weeks ago, pretty good. I really like this guy as an actor from what I've seen of him. I even liked him, though he was playing a middle eastern terrorist, that movie still kinda made you like the guy.

I'm excited to see what he'll bring to the show.

I'm pretty sure this is the reason everyone thinks he was in a Lost epidode. If you saw vantage point, your mind might be tripping out on you.

His name is Said Taghmaoui. He has only filmed 2 episodes of Lost, "316" and "The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham".
