Man that shot of Hurley in the airport waiting room was so badly done. Most of the time, the CGI looks so good on the show, but that just down right sucked. Can anyone remember a worse CGI shot in the show? I think it looked so bad because they did a close-up on Hurley's head and that made the effects look so much more fake. Still I love this show, and nothing comes close to being as good on T.V., with the exception of Battlestar Galactica of course.

I'm going to guess that CGI mean computer generated imagery. I'm not positive though.

I thought they were trying to make him a religious icon, like an apostle.

Sorry, yes. You are right about what I meant by "CGI". The background behind the actor was in my personal opinion a very poorly done computer added effect. For such a basic thing, I would have thought it would be done much better then that. There is so much great computer generated imagery work done on this show that has just blown my mind. This one effect just stood out as being so far below the standard. No big deal, just something that stood out for me, and I wanted to know if I was alone in that observation.

So say we all!

That is correct...It's computer generated imagery. But, I don't know if I remember the scene being talked about.

I definitely didn't notice that...I'll have to watch again. I now remember the scene.

It's the scene where Hurley is in the L.A. airport waiting room, just before he runs up to the airline check-in woman to say that he has purchased a number of seats in first class, and he does not want her to give them to other people.

Yeah, I didn't even think to look behind him. Jorge Garcia does take up a good portion of the screen.

The worse CGI is from early season 3 when Ben takes Sawyer up to the cliff to show him they are on a different island. The "sun in the face and the Lost island in the background"-shot is the worst ever on the show.

Really? Even worse than Sayid looking out the helicopter at the gas leaking out? :)

I hardly ever notice stuff like that at all. I certainly never noticed anything odd behind Hurley. Are you using a massive HD TV or something? Maybe that's why you picked up on it...

 I just saw that scene again with the leaking helicopter and you guys are right. It's the WORST!

Worst background in a Moore Bond film is when he is hanging off the fire truck in "A View to A Kill"! The train fight in "Octopussy" is a close second.

Maybe the life they are now living is all CGI and the only thing real is the people they were on the island with originally.

Why wouldn't the whole plane go down as the original plane did? If of course the new flight didn't go down!

I think that the plane did go down on the island, but on the same date it was flying from L.A. to Guam (lets say early 2009 present time). Our Cast members with Jack are back in time now (most likely in the mid 1990's just before the Dharma purge by Ben and his poison Gas as a result of a time flash during the crash) So the reason we have not seen the plane could be that it's in 2009, and we are seeing events in sometime in the 1990's or before.

Amen! Best one ever from Yoda!

Yoda was total CGI in Episode 1,2 and 3. :p

I liked him much more as a puppet.

So, the plane they are in is suppose to be in 2009; however, when they are "sent" to the island, they land in 1990?

It could be before the Dharma purge as I don't remember a car wash on the island that would put the VW in that great of shape as we saw it in when Jin exited the van. I guess the question will be answered once we see how exactly Jin responds to Jack, Hurley, and Kate to knowing who he is and if he knows who they are.

Where did Jin get the duds for Dharma?
