Yah I thought that was interesting....both the "economist" and Jacob are viewed as the boss so to speak and the show made a point to mention that both of them don't like modern technology. I wonder if there is some sort of connection??

If he hates technology, it is hard to believe he was affiliated with DHARMA and it's scientific nature etc.
BTW, good move on changing the avatar Dz, big improvement...

I don't know, I guess I have been watching too much Lost and looking for crazy theories etc.
Anyway, I disagree about your assessment of who is more attractive.
Regardless, They threw the line about hating tech to make us think of Jacob. There is no possible way in a milliion years that the boss could be jacob.

Yah I agree, I'm sure the writers LOVE to throw stuff out there just to see how we're going to theorize things and all our assumptions....I'm sure they sit there and laugh lol.

So if he hates tech so much why does he constantly page her instead of sending a courier or homing pigeon or something?
He may hate it but he uses it.

Haha a pidgeon...nice.
Yah not sure...I just thought the parallels were interesting, but I'm sure they have nothing to do with each other. It was probably just easier for her to use a pager rather than a cell as we saw Sayid had to dispose of his after using it. I just thought it was interesting that Sayid made a point to say that to her and that we've heard that before.

not only is it easier but it'sharder to trace. it's almost like they want to be a new bred of Amish - only with certain technology. They farm, they build their own things, make due with whatever is given to them - from DHARMA or whoever. AND they certainly do not want anyone to screw with it. Pretty much a cult!

Ya, remember that episode when they have the funeral pyre and are wearing white robes? I think it might have been the one where they brand Juliet

I think that Ben "hunts" down people who maight comprimise the island. Supposedly, no females can get pregnant, however we know that Sun is and that Calire gave birth as well. MAybe Calire was already pregnant but that threatens the integrity of the island (in Ben's mind). So he recruits Sayeed - after the 6 leave the island - to go and hunt for the one person who could hurt them inthe long run - the one that made it off the island- being protected by those who are off the island. Not Walt, but Aaron. The 6 could be the ones who are keeping the secret of the survivors that are stll there. Ther are paying their demons the price to protect the others and ultimately the oine thing that could bring Ben and his dumb theories down- a child being born on the island - living to tell about it - and being raised to take it over. It's like a paradise, obviuosly, Ben does not want it to be found, Jack wants to go back, Hurley is playing dumb and Kate is the "guardian of the Key". Sayeed is the man who sold his soul to the devil (Ben) in order to get off the island - but he regrets it and is in limbo.

That white robe stuff is all very pagean (spell check) and agreed there seems to be a lack of love for technology, but on that Island how reliable is technology? The 'Econonmist' appears to not be a fan, but I think arguing Ben's case is a bit dodgy seen as though we only seem to be able to ascertain what he likes on that Island.
Reading another thread people are talking about the time delay on the rocket not being enough to explain Walt growing up etc BUT did anyone consider that proportionally the time increase was (and I honestly can't remember exactly, but is kinda irrelevant) 10 mins in 20 mins - so that's a 50% delay in time......... so the delay should be thought of as 50% and not 10 mins. Not sure if anyone got to that and I could well be looking silly as my laptop ran out of battery and I lost the page and when I cam back I decided to read this thread.
Sorry for not staying on the point ;-p
