View Full Version : How Ben will get Sayid on his side

I just watched that ending scene from the Economist again and I think the line when Ben asks Sayid "Need I remind you what they did the last time you thought with your heart instead of your gun?" is very telling of what will happen on the freighter... and after seeing the way in which he cares for Naomi it seems as if he is becoming attracted to her in a way, which i think will lead to him meeting Regina on the boat and Regina being her twin... they always love to parallel the flashbacks and flashforwards with things going on on the island...so just like when he met Elsa in his flash forward, he will fall for Regina even though he is there to gather information and either she will end up shooting him while he is vulnerable and/or he will end up killing her for some reason... and i think most likely it will be that she kills desmond or something along those lines because Ben asks him if he wants to protect his friends or not which would indicate to me that he has to make up for not succeeding in that area the last time and since Desmond is the only one accompanying him I think it's got to be him... any thoughts?

nah thats not possible... like miles says...Naiomi does not have a sister plus who would be attracted to a dead girl

miles said that but obviously as we have seen miles is full of it and steals money from old women's houses.... and when he said naomi didn't have a sister and that it was code, daniel didn't seem to know what he was talking about and miles had to explain it all to him...doesn't sound like much of a code to me
and it's not so much that he becomes attracted to Naomi but he could still find her to have been a beautiful woman...he did see her before this after all and think it was a shame that a beautiful woman died and then meets her twin so it just transfers over

I was actually thinking (my wife said it really) that if there is some space time phenomenon happening on the island, then Sayid could already be on the boat that (past) Sayid is about to fly aboard, in fact, he could be Ben's spy that is on the boat, and that would explain why he seems to care so much for Naomi, they could have been very close.
In other words, Sayid finds himself in the past, begins to work for Ben, boards this ship and is on it right now... If so, what happens when he gets near himself when that helicopter lands?
Anyway, just a thought

if you read my thread entitled "the island in the bubble" i point out that the reverse of what most people had been talking about in terms of time dilation is actually true... time is moving more slowly on the island so i think that the spy had to be someone who was not on the island when Ben announced that... also, it is fairly clear from the final scene of the Economist that Sayid gets recruited as a result of what happens on the freighter and was not in his employ at any point when he was on the freighter.... but you do throw out and interesting scenario there

That seems possible (time moving more slowly on the island) but I am not sure how that could explain two identical rabbits in the Orchid video. It seems like if there can be two rabbits that there could be two Sayid's or two Ben's.. or two.. anything

there were two rabbits because they were purposefully put into some sort of machine that would perform a macroscopic version of the Casimir effect so the rabbit would jump ahead in time 20 minutes (like in the video) and there would now be two pretty much identical rabbits except that one is 20 minutes older... if you've seen the film The Prestige it could be very similar to the effect of Tesla's machine cloning all the hats...i think they are able to do it by harnessing certain powers of the island but i don't know if it would happen randomly....

I like it, I'm not sure I believe that Regina will be Naomi's twin (but who knows??) but I do think Regina and Naomi are close somehow and who knows maybe look similar? But I DO think its possible that Sayid may fall for her or something and that is when he uses his heart rather than his gun. I mean we already know Sayid is headed to the freighter so I doubt Sayid will go back to the island....so the majority of this season regarding him will be spent on the freighter most likely so I DEF think its possible for him to develop some sort of relationship, ESPECIALLY since right now Sayid hates Ben too so they would have a common enemy. It may turn out that in the end Ben was right, but for now, Sayid doesn't trust him and probably wants him dead too.

i dont think she is her twin, their accents sound different. that doesnt mean he wont be attracted to regina though.
and i dont think desmond will die yet - there is still too much from the penny/desmond story we have yet to find out.
