View Full Version : Sayid is the Spy?

I was thinking about the temporal video that was shown (The Orchid), and it really made me start to wonder.. Could it be that Sayid is Ben's spy aboard the boat? If he gets pushed back through time, then it seems like it would be possible. I think what made me start to believe this was the close, close bond Sayid seems to have with Naomi. I know that the other people from the helicopter don't seem to recognize him, but since they are not very high in the pecking order perhaps they do not have the run of the boat.
Anyway, just a thought.

That is an interesting theory but I personally think the spy is going to be someone that shocks us that we've seen before on the show but wouldn't ever think he'd work for Ben. My personal belief is that it will be Michael just because they've been introducing Walt back to us so I think its safe to say Michael would be on the boat helping Ben out because he wanted Walt back. We know Michael has turned against his friends before but strangely in this case...I feel like Ben and the Losties are actually on the same side they just don't know it yet.

That thought is a very interesting one and raises a lot of questions. there seems to be a funny connection between Sayid and Ben in the last few episodes on the island. Has he been spying for Ben? good question.

i am just getting to grips with the whole sayid spy theory but the michale theory seems to be winning me over purely in a reintroduction of the character front.

The spy is Vincent! He doggy-paddles back to the island for cameo appearances.

I think the Michael idea is very interesting. Wasn't it confirmed that he would be returning to the show this season? Anyway, what ever happened to the Other who first recruited Ben when he was a child? He was also the one who recruited Juliette, I don't remember his name but he looked like he was in his 30's and had dark hair. He was around when Ben was trying to convince Locke to kill his father but I don't remember what happened to him after that. I'm new to the forums so I don't know what the consensus was about him being immortal, but obviously he hadn't aged between when he was shown in the flashback with Ben as a child and how he looked during the events of Season 3, so I don't think they would just knock him out of the show like that. Could he perhaps be the spy?

If the spy where Michael, Sayid would probaby kill him when he sees him.
I don't think it will be anyone that Sayid has met before. Might be one of the Others that they showed during Juliette's flashback show.

Rain, I was thinking the same guy. I don't remember his name, or what happened to him near the end of last season.
I did see him in some trailer for a new movie not that long ago, so maybe he's taking a break from Lost. Or took a break...

you're thinking of Richard Alpert...the last we saw him, Ben told him to lead all the Others to the temple which i think is probably near the broken statue with the four toes....
the actor who portrays them also got a role on that show Cane with jimmy smits i think...i was reading something the other day that said that one of the higher ups at CBS would not let him make guest appearances on LOST again while he was still on Cane because she thought that audiences might get confused between the two characters.... pretty much one of the most ridiculous comments i've ever read in my life, obviously tv has been around for more than 50 years and people can tell the difference between different show's characters but apparently this woman thinks that tv viewers are complete morons...
and i dont think any real fan of LOST would ever want to watch a terrible CBS show like Cane.... hopefully it ends up getting cancelled because of the writer's strike destroying the show's audience and then we'll get to see Richard Alpert again!

no, the writers/producers of LOST were cool with him doing it, just like they've been supportive of all of their cast turning their LOST success into more business opportunities for themselves... it was only this ridiculous woman at CBS that didn't want the actor who played richard going back to LOST after he was on Cane since she idiotically assumed viewers would not be able to tell them apart....so i don't think we've seen the last of richard, he just became a victim of his own success

He kinda reminded me of the guy on "Wings". Both funny comic-relief type characters with heavy accents!

And yeah, Richard Alpert has come a long way since his Suddenly Susan days...what a ridiculous one-dimensional character that was

i rewatched the scene where sayid is mediataing while facing naomi's body then he walks over to close her eyes. he seemed to display more emotion than i would have expected if naomi was a total stranger, but it didn't seem he and naomi we friends....perhaps they were soldiers for the same general?

Sayid generally shows more respect for the dead than the others, however, he was acting peculiar, like there was some connection.
Does RG mean Republican Guard?
Is Naomi alive? Was she bitten by the paralyzing spider (like Nikki and Paolo) and Sayid knows she is alive, but does not want to tell?

Lawgiver.... I think you have something there with the spider theory. Why else did they waste an entire episode on two unknown characters???? One reason...to give us the spiders......damn!!!!

I thought the same thing what a waste of time..they had to of introduced the spiders for a reason i'm sure it wasn't just to kill off Nikki and Paulo.

i think rg stands for this regina woman daniel's calling into from the island. i'm sure this has probably been addressed in another thread, but i think we're going to learn more about regina. probably entirely too simple for the vast minds of the writers, but who knows?

Funny. I thought that was exactly why they introduced the spider. How else could you get rid of those two bores?

I agree they sucked but remember they introduced the spiders before they were going to kill off Nikki and Paulo. That guy who blew himself up was working with them for some reason. I think that was before they really knew they would kill them two off. If i remember right they were suppose to be around for awhile they were only killed off because they sucked so bad and everyone hated them. So in my opinion they only used the spiders as a easy and shocking way to get rid of them.

That would be cool if they could tie that all in heaven. It was Doc Artz that was playing with the spiders before he blowed himself to a bunch of little Doc Artz's.

i think naomi is dead. she did have one of locke's knives in her back. and if she was bit by a paralyzing spider wouldn't she need water, which she isn't going to get, pretty soon?

Plus Ghost Whisperer Miles sort of communicated with her when he needed to prove that she was not killed by Kate. But then again, THAT could be a set-up.

i was thinking exactly the same thing i just can't come to terms with it in my head, the parallel existence in 2 timelines would be impossible but its good food for thought
